In the ABC comedy "The Middle" it's like 100000% obvious that the youngest kid Brick has Asperger's Syndrome.

Watch episode 105 "The Block Party". In the episode Brick's teacher makes him that this personality test because he is considered socially challenged and that his mind will wander off to focus on other things (even while playing sports), he would rather read books instead of socialize with friends and has a super memory of every books he reads. From episode 1, it is obvious that he has echolalia.

I dunno why they don't just come right out and say that he has Asperger's Syndrome. Maybe they just wanted to throw out as many quirks for the characters to have for comical purposes but all of Brick's quirks are a clear sign of AS. It kinda annoys me for some reason (although I know it shouldnt but that's my two cents).

William L. Petersen as Will Graham in Manhunter. His laser-like focus and unique ability to percieve details in regards to criminal investigation is very Aspergian in nature.

I don't know think Bree from Desperate Housewives has Aspergers, but she does have some interesting OCD-type quirks. Like the fact that she is obsessed with cleaning, cooking, and collecting guns, the way she goes into a rage when her "perfect world" is messed up, the fact that she is oblivious to how much her family hates her because of her quirks, and her habbit of saying or doing very awkard things in front of people like when she was at her husband's funeral and actually lifted his corpse up to remove his green and orange tie to put on a blue tie to match his suit.

Ushiromiya Maria from Umineko No Naku Koro Ni*
- can't spot lies, always takes jokes/irony/metaphors etc. seriously. ALL of them.
- not exactly an aspie trait, but she is really childish for her age (she's 9). you can say it's a general anime character trait, but she keeps getting scolded for it, and she doesn't seem to have a clue what she's doing wrong.
- acts generally awkward IMO.
- very intelligent.
- is an occult nerd. she's basically a living encyclopedia about magic. (also, the creators Did Do The Research, so she's not making the stuff up.) because of that, she keeps getting asked to explain things and provide info (by adults), and is treated seriously (or rather, her knowledge is). a f****n 9 year old.
- in general, the best way to handle her is to ask her about her interests. she keeps talking about it and looks very happy when she does. XD and it may be just me (or the translation), but she sounds suprisingly mature when she explains things.
- despite her epic memory, she has bad grades, since she can't learn things that are uninteresting for her. so yeah.
- despite beeing friendly and relatively outgoing has no friends. AT ALL. (and it may be just me, but i think she's a really cute kid, and i just don't get it, how one can not like her, even if her interests are creepy. >.> unless you assume her social skills suck, that is.)
- gets bullied at school for beeing creepy.

the problem is, since it's a sound novel, we don't know anything about her bodylanguage, nothing about her eye contact or anything. and anime adaptation isn't the best source of information, so yeah. (and LOL, most of her facial expressions aren't even physically possible XD we get creepy higurashi faces again.) she may act suprisingly normal, depending how you imagine her.

she may not be aspergers, but she's deffinitely weird, with some autistic traits. and she reminds me of me when i was her age, like, A LOT. except i wasn't into occult. XD

*it applies more to the novel than anime, so yeah. you may disagree if you're anime only.

Akira from Katsuhiro Otomo's manga and anime of the same name. He just causes my Aspie-dar to go wild.
-In the manga, Akira never speaks, save for some lines of dialogue towards the end.
-He seems very emotionally shallow; indeed, he hardly flinches when people around him die horribly. However, he is traumatized by Nezu's killing of Takashi, and seems a bit glad that he is reunited with the surviving Espers near the end.
-A lot of the time, Akira seems preoccuipied with arranging rocks in a double helix pattern using his psychokinetic powers.

After watching Pet Shop of Horrors, I think the Count might be a bit of an Aspie.

He talks very monotoned and doesn't seem to show emotion except around sweets (which he is also obsessed with). He has very little empathy towards humans and never shows any remourse when they break the contracts they sign and get killed by their monster pets, and he's always completely honest about his pets and never lies about them, though the detective Leon refuses to believe he sells dangerous monsters and thinks he 's covering up an illegal drug trade.

Edit: Oh and he has a very weird sense of fashion. He likes wearing Chinese robes with floral patterns, has long manicured nails that he paints, and wears black/dark purple lipstick. Many people often mistake him for a girl because of the way he dresses (which is a common trait for many bishounen males in Anime, but his style is still a lot stranger even for bishounen males). Also he has this natural tounge and behavior for good manners and always shows them even in horrible situations, and he's a bit of a social outcasts who doesn't really like humans.

Okay, now I know this is gonna sound crazy but hear me out...

Dawson of Dawson's Creek

I mean think about it. He's obsessed with being a film director and his idol is supposed aspie director Steven Speilberg. Plus he seems obsessed with his own Hollywood perfect view of the world and he is too absorbed in the idea that he and Joey are soulmates just because they're childhood friends. And then when they're broken up he says he loves her but he doesn't want her and then goes cuckoo bananas when she and Pacey become a couple and that's when he is convinced that he stills loves Joey but it is obsessive and insane if you watch a little bit of the show.

Robbie Rotten of Lazytown.

He has a LOT LOT LOT of social anxiety, particularly around kids. He's extremely clever and can build extremely complicated appliances. He's seen to be wringing his hands in some episodes and while he seems miserable much of the time, he can get really excited when his plans work ;)

I have been wondering if the main protagonist
from the movie Up in the Air, Ryan Bingham
{as expertly played by George Clooney}
is an Aspie.

Reasons:

-Likes being alone

-Is a lonely man, and accepts this

-Everyone else thinks Ryan Bingham is a jerk,
even members of his own family

-Ryan Bingham is obsessed with flying
and obtaining 10 million frequent flyer miles

-Ryan Bingham is an extrovert

Willy Wonka as portrayed by Johnny Depp:

- Is very blunt, frequently comes across as rude
- Seems high-strung and anxious in social situations
- Attempts to make jokes, but the others don't find them funny
- Eager to talk about his obsession (chocolate), to the point of repeating himself
- Had no problem living in isolation for many years (not counting the Oompa Loompas)
- Possibly asexual: chose to "pick out" an heir rather than father one himself, appeared uncomfortable when Violet's mom hit on him
- Aversion to touch: his reaction when Violet unexpectedly hugged him

I remember Count Duckula, it was on YTV in Canada when I was a teenager. I remember he liked broccoli sandwiches. :)
