Last Vegas

Hilarious movie. Four old guys who have known each other since childhood go to Las Vegas to throw a "bachelor party" for their playboy friend, who plans on marrying a 31-year-old woman.

Terrific performances from Michael Douglas {as the playboy}, Robert De Niro {as the depressed friend}, Morgan Freeman { as the "nice guy"}, and Kevin Kline {as the "nerd"}.

Man of Steel

Latest and darkest entry into the Superman franchise. General Zod wants to terraform Earth into a new Krypton. Great action and special effects. No Lex Luthor.

In The Loop

A spin-off of Armando Iannucci's dark British political satire In The Thick of It. In this case, the piece parodies the events that led up to a certain controversial war in the Middle East and the strained Anglo-American relations behind the public smiles and staged press conferences of unionship. I'm not really sure what to say about In the Loop because it cuts really close to the knuckle... hmm, handle with care... it made me suck my teeth more than laugh out loud...

Watched some random Japanese horror movie of some sort called Lust in Hell. Not that good, but I guess if you like long sex scenes. =p None of which take place in hell as the title implies. lol Just sort of a supernatural story about some bad people that get scared when this girl pulls souls out of hell to remind them of what they did.

Last movie I actually watched, though was The Hangover part III. Not as good as the last two, but at least it doesn't follow the same formula.

Blind Woman's Curse

A semi-surreal yakuza/horror film. I didn't realize how old it was until I finished it. The special effects are good for the period, in that the crew didn't try to do more than they could with them.

Diana Vreeland:The Eye Has To Travel. This is a documentary about a revolutionary fashion editor named Diana Vreeland.I had read about her before as I have been interested in fashion for about 16 years. She really changed the way magazines looked, their editorials, the photographers, was key in the 1960s to bring about the Youthquake and let readers become a part of it.She was a character and interesting to watch, with her mannerisms and eccentricity.Definitely an original! This is a fun film for women and fashion lovers.

"The Amphibian Man" Great Soviet Russian sci-fi from the 1960s. Kinda like "Creature from the Black Lagoon" but instead the creature is more like Edward from "Twilight". Totally nutso movie. Lots of great cinematography, neat locales (Mexico?), acting, cute effects, love that colorful Soviet film-stock too. Four stars!! !

The Conjuring.

I suspect the so called "true story" behind the movie is a load of crap, but it doesn't diminish this film as a work of great cinematic horror.

I heard from someone else that it was going to be scary. I watched it last night with high expectations, but although it was a good movie, I didn't find it very scary.

The Girl in the Park

A 2007 independent film, and a directorial debut one at that, by Chicagoan playwright David Auburn. Sigourney Weaver plays Julia Sandburg, a mother who is left emotionally and psychologically distraught after her 3-year-old daughter, Maggie, disappears from a local park. Sixteen isolated years pass, when by chance, Julia by chance bumps into young renegade, Louise (played by Kate Bosworth). And so begins an intimate yet complicated drama centred on Julia struggling to cope with old wounds (to the point of practically ostracising her son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law) and an irrational hope that Louise may be in fact her missing daughter grown up. I won't spoil the ending but I particularly enjoyed this film; Sigourney was excellent at displaying the complex feelings Julia was wrestling with, regarding Louise and herself as a person.

Thor: The Dark World

Sequel to the 2011 comic-book movie Thor, in which Thor and Loki, with the help of Jane Foster, fight against a common enemy.

Hilarious movie that focuses more on the relationship between Thor and Loki instead of between Thor and Jane. Though this sequel leaves plenty of room for a Thor 3 {try saying that five times fast}, this was worth the price of admission.

I don't get the hate for this movie. It's a good comic book movie and a GREAT sci-fi movie. The Kryptonian designs are awesome.

I don't think that the critics could handle the fact that zack snyder directed a great superman film .
