Ah. Well, I'm in the US, where the new episodes won't be airing until May, so I won't be seeing "Hounds" until... probably tomorrow when it's uploaded illegally to YouTube and Dailymotion.

What was the morse code about? In the original story that was an escaped convict signalling their relatives, but even though they mentioned a prison they left out that whole thread.

Actually it's Watson saying it to Lestrade, who apparently forgot the term or doesn't know.

It seems to me like the authors decided to "change the diagnosis" from one series to the other. I find Sherlock's characterization much more intriguing in the second season.
Anyway, I guess any psychiatrists or the like would risk being harpooned :lol:

Well Asperger's was originally autistic psychopathy, and seeing as psychopaths and sociopaths are the same thing, maybe that's how they made the jump.

At the moment, though, it was just a throw-away comment, so we'll have to see if they end up actually going any further with it in future episodes.

I mean maybe the writers just like showing their knowledge of all the neurological conditions

I think they decided that 'high functioning sociopath' was Holmes's idea because he didn't like that he cares about people, he's just bad at expressing it. Aspergers is Watson's idea.

just watched it on iplayer and i definately thought the asperger remark was just being bitchy, like when the euro mps called the conservatives autistic.
