Especially Sam's Mother. Yikes!

Probably the ones in its a wonderful life, stewart granger, seeing as he left them just because of money problems at xmas, um Kevin mcCallisters, although his was maybe just a case of mistaken identity,
Song of the South, where little Bobby runs away after his parents when they decide to leave him and I think they took his dog too.(only because the aunt was mean).
Who else on film, The Secret Garden perhaps, seeing as she had that wicked aunt of hers who supposedly looked after her whilst she literally had to escape for fear of being seen and ends up in her only cousins room.
The ones in James Dean Life stories were not good seeing as his dad thought he wasn't his so practically ignored him his whole life.
In Titanic her mother was off to Rose because she wouldn't charm the mothballs off her fiancé and phantom of the opera because the 'elephant man' was real and he was made a laughing stock out of. Oh and Billy Elliots because they said he couldn't do ballet.(and he did anyway).

Odin from Thor. Specifically, in the parenting of Loki. With Thor, Odin understood what he needed. Not so much with Loki. Loki's descent could possibly have been prevented by Odin knowing what Loki needed from him as his father.

I think Kate was better. At least she was more concerned about Kevin than her husband was.

The crazy Mom in Spanglish. The type of person who does what she wants but says she's doing it for her kids when in fact what she does hurts her kids. The end of that movie annoys me. Why did he stay with that selfish witch and not leave with the loving woman who cared about his kids?

Dean Moriarty in the movie version of On The Road. He was responsible for producing at least three children, which he expressed love and pride in, but seems to have had no problem deserting with their mothers.

The parents from the Odd Life of Timothy Green. Watch the Nostalgia Critic's review if you don't believe me.

Oh, and Topsy from the Land Before Time series. He has to be one of the worst fictional fathers I've ever seen...
