I wish I was L.

Before he (spoiler goes here). Seriously. He's got the best life around. He gets to work and act like himself and NOBODY COMPLAINS!

Does anybody else wish they were L?

Yeah, well I wish I had L's metabolism. If I were to eat that much sugar, i'd either develop diabetes or else move so fast that I'd tear the time-space continuum and destroy the whole known universe.

Im an Adult with asperger's and a anime fan and thought I was the only one that picked this up.

Im adding him to my list of cool aspies (live dead or fiction) that includes:

Meh, Light should've won in the end, or at least lost in a less embarrassing way. I hope Lelouch in Code Geass doesn't suffer the same kind of crappy ending that Light did

The English VA for L was easily the best of the bunch. He understood the character very well and gave him many interesting mannerisms.

People sadly don't understand that it's not necessarily a VA's job to replicate the original actor as much as remaining true to the core of the character.

I have an on-again off-again relationship with Death Note. I might get back into it again; especially if all the episodes are dubbed in English.

I watched the entire show in about a week... Brilliant! I liked all the convoluted schemes and counter-schemes and how they played out. I watched it in English, though I did watch a couple of Japanese episodes too. I didn't mind the dub at all. This and Yu Yu Hakusho are my favorite Shonen Jump animes.

I related to both L and Mikami Teru.... L's analytical mind and detachment from "normal" life, and Mikami's sense of justice brought about by childhood bullying and being the only one who wanted to stop it. Though I also liked Matsuda quite a bit too.... he wasn't the most brilliant person in the world and felt quite out of place in a battle between super-geniuses, but he was one of the nicest and purest characters in the show, and actually was the one to... er... how to say this without spoiling things... resolve the show, let's just say.

One of the greatest anime/manga ever. Painfully well plotted and gripping until the very end, which is remarkable considering a premise like it could have been a complete bore in teh wrong hands.

I recently discovered it on youtube while I was looking at abridged series. The show is ausome, I love how it makes you think and twists can come in so many ways, also there are some good comical moments. All the characters are interesting, I have been trying to catagorise what each character is, like one idea was that Light, L and Misa each kind of represent a kind of crazy. The chcaracters are intrigueing you have Light the genious and whanting a better world through the death of evil, and the power kinds of gets to his head. L is odd in all ways, it seems that the way he sits is like a stim and without it he said that his abilities drop by 40%, I kind of conect to him in a way. I also keep getting the feeling that L is just like the Shinagami in a few ways, kind of giving him an evil feel but he is the good guy right, this is some way reflected in his choice of a white shirt. While Light he apears as a realy good guy, comeone his name is light, but he has some moments where he goes totaly evil, he also wears darker clothes, but often when he is trying to pretend to be not Kira he wears a white jacket like he is just wearing this good side. One way I would describe Misa is crazy girlfriend, like when she says that she will kill any girls he is with, she seems to be very transparent but is often puzzeling. I am up to ep 19 I think, I have been watching them on youtube but if there are better ways I will watch it there instead. Also one thing I think I have noticed is that I think that shinigami like apples is referece to the nordic gods eating the apples from the tree of life giving them there immortality. Also can't forget Ryuk, always am entertaining character, at the part at the moment I am missing him.

i LIKED Death Note, until the episode where Light and L have this huge internal monologue during a game of tennis, thinking to themselves whether their moves or how good they do will give away the other's identity. during a freaking tennis match! that's the point the series jumped the shark for me and i couldn't take it seriously after that.
