60 fields per second [american NTSC system] versus 24 film frames per second, is much improved temporal resolution resulting in a subjectively and objectively "live" experience [like a live news broadcast or a soap opera] compared to film. the videotaped twilight zone episodes had a very eerie liveness to them, like you were seeing the paranormal in real time. some star trek episodes would, i believe, have benefited from that live feel.

I thought it brought about some interesting ideas and made me think of the early days of other (now well known) scientific theories.
