The 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead.

I like how they reimagined the character Barbara for this one as a woman who starts off scared but becomes a survivor of the zombie apocalypse because she wasnt repeating the same mistakes as her character in the original 1968 movie did, nor did she make the mistakes that the other characters hiding in the farmhouse made like panicking at the gas pump or fighting and bickering with the others over trivial things.

The part where she first realized that the zombies moved so slow and that they could be avoided if careful was brilliant, and she tried to explain this to her fellow survivors hiding in the old farm house but as often happens in the real world she was dismissed because she was a woman, even though it turned out she was right.

Remake Barbara and Sarah from George Romero's Day of the Dead are among some of my favorite zombie movie survivors, because although they were both tough women and smart they were also vulnerable too and just trying to stay alive in a world gone crazy due to the zombie outbreak.
