I do kind of...have been watching one on netflix called Fairy Tale, it is actually pretty entertaining especially since it has a flying cat that talks...but yeah its in Japanese with English subtitles which I sorta prefer, a lot of times the english dubbing just annoys the crap out of me, the exception probably being Dragon Ball Z though me and my brother got a full length movie that was in japanese which was also good.

Fairy Tail is one of my favourite anime, I have been following it since it started coming out.

I don't know much about netlix, but I know that a recently started series called The Seven Deadly Sins has had people considering it quite similar.

Trying to think what else might fit tastes. Hayate the Combat Butler is a pretty funny series. Log Horizon is pretty popular, it got its first season released recently, it kind of got note for being characters stuck in an MMO like Sword Art Online, but it stands on its own as being lighter yet probably more in depth as a fantasy setting. And Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, is also a good choice.

I've been working my way through Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. I had no idea there was any good sci-fi anime left.

You can be surprised by some of the things that come out.

For Gargantia, I am not sure if you would be interested but the writer from that also worked on some other sci-fi like Psycho-Pass. As well as the more recent Aldnoah Zero. He was actually the same writer that did Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a quite popular series.

Knights of Sidonia was another surprise hit.

I've heard Psycho-Pass recommended before. If I weren't on a mecha kick, I'd probably make a point of watching that one next because it sounds like it's got a lot of good twists.

Aldnoah Zero seemed like a pretty big miss to me, though. The pacing felt off the entire series.

Yeah Aldnoah Zero was a bit of a mess. The music was superb though, and I liked how the main character was kind of an anti-thesis to the usual type of her when you compared him to the other main character.

I was going to say that there are no good mecha anime out that the moment, but an anime called Cross Ange has actually been surprisingly good watch. It is similar to some other anime by the same company that did Code Geass and Valvrave, but they personally were not quite my cup of tea, but I have actually been really enjoying it despite how brutal it can be. You probably won't watch that one soon though as it is only 9 or so episodes into what is looking for 24.

I know some other good ones. Majestic Prince was something had some really good CG battles, it could be serious despite largely being quite light and fun. They are actually probably some of my favourite mecha fights with the different mechas reflecting the characters.

Others I liked are Buddy Complex that I enjoyed for mostly ironic reasons (it is really not subtle at being BL like). Captain Earth was a little goofy, there are large swathes that just feel really convenient but some of the characters turn out to be really good. And if you are a Marvel fan and can find it, you might enjoy Heroman, it is more of a hero show, a show quite surprising to not hit the states since that is where it is set.

Stan Lee worked on Heroman and actually cameos in it. Wait a moment, the kids movie Big Hero 6 looks surprisingly like Heroman.

I dabble in it. My favorites are Cardcaptor Sakura, Spirited Away, Strawberry Marshmallow, Record of Lodoss War, and Koi Kaze.

Azumanga Daioh, Vampire Princess Miyu, Desert Punk, and Dragon Ball Z are pretty cool too. I still have to watch Ergo Proxy and Serial Experiments Lain.

So today I decided I'm going to officially make it my goal to not start any new anime series for next year and instead finish the ones I've started, because I've got the worst habit of watching a few episodes of something, saying "hey this is good I'm going to keep watching this!", and then getting distracted and never watching any more of it.

However, I've got a feeling I'll likely be breaking this because of the massive piles of anime Netflix keeps adding that I go "ooh shiny, never seen that before" to.

(I have been trying to finish the original 51-episode Fullmetal Alchemist series for 2-3 years. Yes, I am that bad.)

Linebarrels of Iron is just unbelievable so far. It's dark, it's violent, and there are no memes.

Anyone watching anything out of the new season?

(Yeah, I said I wasn't gonna start anything new literally two posts ago, but I made an exception and watched the first episode of Assassination Classroom because I've also read the first volume of the manga. This is probably Shonen Jump's best series in years!)

Originality does not seem huge this season, although there does appear to be a couple creative things. Something that has grabbed my attention from the first episode so far (episode 0) is Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata (How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend), it had me rolling my eyes, but is being incredibly self aware about it with the dialogue actually commenting on those things. But if you are paying attention that it is actually has a hidden side that shows a surprising depth.

Actually just remembered one that I absolutely adored the first episode, Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE! (Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!), it is magical boys and had an incredibly funny first episode by playing on the tropes without being mean. Kind of like Nozaki-kun.

Yea, most of the new anime is constituted of second seasons. Nothing new this season really. I am over joyed to know that Durarara!! has a second season at last. I thought it was kind of inconclusive and unrealistic that Izaya would merely sulk in his own failure, the end. It'd be quite the twist if Izaya is a masochist in this season, although it's highly unlikely it's be funny as hell. I've noted that a lot of more so underground production companies are producing anime this season....

Yes and the anime happen to be my most favorite franchise shows. Like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Dragonball, which I both watched since I was a like 5 or 6. I also like some unpopular anime like Future Boy Cohan and Wild Arms( which comes in a series of games and an Anime TV show). I don't know if you guys ever heard of these titles but you should Google or look them up. I am sure many of you have never heard of Wild Arms or Future Boy Cohan.

I like some yuri, my favourites include: Sasameki Koto, Sakura Trick, and Yuru Yuri.

There is also the current airing Yuri Kuma Arashi.

Strictly speaking, my favorite anime is a yuri anime, although it's very different from what people often mean by yuri: Hidamari Sketch.

Anyway, I'm catching up on a lot of stuff from the Fall. Things happened, and I haven't watched much anime since the Summer. I really liked Invaders of the Rokujyouma, and I'm about halfway through Glasslip, which is also very good.

I have not seen a lot of Hidamari Sketch, but I wonder what you might think of the current airing Koufuku Graffiti, it is also being done by SHAFT and has some kind of similar themes.

I too thought Invaders of the Rokujyouma was pretty good. But ended up feeling that Glasslip was quite disappointing towards the end, I found that the next season show Sora no Method was better for what Glasslip tried to be.
