Brookside on STV player. Very enjoyable.

I used to like Brookside, except for the fact that it concentrated too much in my view on the bloody awful Grant family. Never heard of STV Player - do you need a TV licence to watch that?

An Idiot Abroad, Series 1 Episode 1: China

I'd never heard of this show before, nor of its main character Karl Pilkington. Quite interesting and funny. My inner cynical self suspects that most of it is contrived and scripted, yet this is denied by the show's producers, so who knows? See what you think:

Tales of the Unexpected, 'Edward The Conqueror' (1979)


An eccentric lady believes that a stray cat she has adopted is in fact a reincarnation of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt. Sounds harmless enough, but it has deadly consequences for her husband, Edward. LOL.

A couple of episodes of The Tomorrow People from 1976.

This was quite a long-running series (1973-79), but I was unaware of it until recently. It's a bit like a version of 'Doctor Who' or 'Blakes Seven' with younger characters. Not as bad as I was expecting, certainly watchable.

Starting Season 7 of House.

I was probably being a bit too charitable towards this show earlier - it really is pretty dire. Very low budget stuff, like Dr Who and Blake's Seven, with cheap sets and special effects, not to mention wooden acting, cartoonish baddies, etc.

You Rang M' Lord?

A late-1980s to early-1990s BBC sitcom, focusing on life in an upper class household in the 1920s. 'Upstairs Downstairs' with jokes? Quite funny actually, first episode of this I'd seen.

Watched all 4 episodes of When They See Us. Extremely powerful and very moving. Really well acted as well. Would highly recommend.

The India episode was the better one. I couldn't work out what was supposed to be happening half the time in the Jordan one.

I've watched Star Trek: Picard, and caught up with episode 1 of season 3. I have to wait for the next episode to air. I am enjoying Picard very much. It is nice to see so many of the original Next Generation actors participating.
