Lawless Lawyer - Episode 4 (2018)

This is simply entertainment. Car chases, devil-may-care sidekicks, crooked judges, gangster thugs with political asperations, the entitled wealthy, the unjustly accused, the play by his own rules lawyer fighting for justice and revenge, and the smart female lawyer on the side of good.
It's entertainment, a show with very recognizable types, and it is entertaining.

There will likely be to it. I'm trying my best to keep it brief.

Just finished Episode 5
:D No it didn't take me that long to type the above. It took me that long to type and delete and type and edit and delete and type until I got to what's above.
(and I find I'm still editing)

Remake of the old Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Better production values, but without the humor that made the original series so memorable.

Where does this air/stream? I could probably find it, but there are so many Night Stalker titles. I'm tired and I'm being lazy. Thank you.
I really enjoyed the original Dan Curtis produced series and movies. They were perfect for my 13 year old monster obsessed interest in the early seventies.

Actually, I borrowed the Blu-Ray of the show from a friend.

Thank you.

I have The Night Stalker on DVD, and I may take a break from the Korean dramas to watch it and the two Night Stalker movies. Darren McGavin is more than the furnace swearing dad of Ralphie. Although, that was a wonderful role for him. :)

Lawless Lawyer - Episode 11

The plot has gotten interesting, and plot points resolve or take twists that were unexpected.

The lawless lawyer, Bong Sang-pil, and the gangster/thug Ahn Oh-joo, briefly team up when there is an attempted hit on the lawyer while he is in hospital, and a double cross hit on the gangster/thug. They are not friends, and one of the plot threads is the lawyer's seeking legal revenge for his mother's murder 18 years prior.

I really enjoy the characterization of Ahn Oh-joo. At first I thought it was a bit over the top, but it is consistent with his gangster/thug self-importance swagger. The actor used ever facial twitches, finger movement, and even the movement of his tongue in his mouth to convey that swagger. The actor is Min-su Choi.

Finished Lawless Lawyer.

I'm glad I stuck with it even though my initial reaction was it was a cookie cutter show with cookie cutter characters.

I was planning to watch The Night Stalker, but after a short nap, I popped The Extraordinary Attorney Woo DVD in the player.

I'm glad I did. I have not watched the DVD yet. It seems fresh and delightful.
Perhaps I'll bounce between this and The Night Stalker?

I watched the first 4 episodes of Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1974)

What great show.
The first episode was about Jack the Ripper.
The second was about a zombie.
The third was about an invisible alien (???).
The fourth was about a female vampire in Los Angeles. She is related to the original Night Stalker movie. She was an unaccounted victim of the vampire Janos Skorzeny.

One thing I've gotten out of it that I did not get when I first watched it are all the actors I would see again and again in movies and on television over that last 49 years. There are a LOT. The only one I will mention is Carol Ann Susi. If you've watched The Big Bang Theory, you know her as the voice of Howard Wolowitz's mother. This was her first on screen role in three episodes.
