I'm quite sure it's based on my life.

Same show, same episodes.
Not based on my life and did not nearly choked to death.

Regardless, this is so funny. Thanks for mentioning it.

Fleabag (2016)

Watched episodes 3 through 6.

The show starts out very funny. The asides to the camera reminded me of Miranda. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Miranda Hart are masters at that. So it starts out funny, and a bit raunchy, and slowly spirals into sadness and dark humor. It was very good.

I'll probably watch season 2 tomorrow.

I've been watching episodes of Coronation Street from January and February 1991 over the past week or so. There's definitely been a decline in quality from the early 1980s episodes I was watching a few months ago. Long term stalwarts like Elsie Tanner, Len Fairclough, Annie Walker and Stan and Hilda Ogden have departed, and their replacements have not really 'replaced' them, lol.

Bet Lynch is still good value as the landlady of The Rover's Return, but her husband Alec Gilroy is largely just a pain in the neck. Jack and Vera Duckworth are clearly meant to be a substitute for the Ogdens, but they're just too common and aggressive for my liking. A lot of the focus of these early 1991 episodes has been on events at the Bettabuy supermarket, involving manager Reg Holdsworth, his deputy Curly Watts and employees Kimberley Taylor, Rachel Wolstenholme and Vera Duckworth: all of this is played for its comedy value, but it's very contrived and utterly unrealistic.

The other significant characters are Derek and Mavis Wilton (say no more) and the Websters (Kevin and Sally), who are struggling to make ends meet after the birth of their daughter Rosie. The latter turned out to be good entertainment value about 15-20 years later, if I remember correctly....

Finished watching Fleabag, season 2. (2019)

There are lots of things I like about the show, but one really small thing is Andrew Scott's character (the Priest) and his ability of seeing when Pheobe Waller-Bridge does her asides to the viewer. He says she disappears and every time asks what's going on? This is also the first performance of his where I could detect an Irish accent.

Olivia Coleman is marvelously horrible person (as a character). I love the painting the character does does of the two sisters. It was funny when it was setup with their posing, and funny later when it shows up in the last episode.

Another favorite bit is at her mother's funeral (season 2, episode 4) and EVERYONE tells her how good she looks. It is the only time she consistently gets compliments. Usually the compliments are for her sister. Also she gets these compliments from everyone when they are in mourning, when they are feeling their worst.

I have not mentioned this, but it is rated 16+.

I watched it on Amazon Video.

Mr. Queen (2020-2021)

Season 1, episode 1

IMDB: Episode description wrote:
S1, Ep1
15 Feb. 2022 Jang Bong Hwan in Wonderland
7.9 (245) Rate
Bong Hwan is a successful young chef, but he finds himself in trouble. After accidentally falling into a swimming pool while being chased by the police, he wakes up in the Joseon dynasty in a woman's body.

I wasn't sure what to expect. It is a fun and silly period drama of sorts, with a Freak Friday theme. There is actually a Benny Hill chase style scene, minus Yakety Sax. There is also a subplot of attempted murder and political conspiracy, so it isn't going to be all fun.

1.02 of The Bear (Disney). Nice to hear Counting Crows again, haven't listened to them in a long, long time.

Mr. Queen (2020-2021)

Season 1, episode 2 (of 20)

Still very funny.

Hye-Sun Shin as the Queen with the mind/spirit of a 21 century ego driven man is excellent. Her/his behavior and actions are totally at odds with the women of that time, as well as someone in the Queen's position.
One moment (of many) I found funny was the Queen is being transported. She looks out the window and sees a beautiful woman and she/he yells STOP! She/he is basically "hound dogging" the beautiful women of the kingdom. Her/his body language is so good. It just happens that the woman she/he starts flirting with is the King's official concubine, the woman that perhaps tried to kill the queen by pushing her into a lake.

Another situation ripe for laughs is when the Queen dresses up as a man, and sneaks out of the kingdom to the local Korean brothel. The woman that runs the place says right away she can see that the woman is dressed as a man, and they don't entertain women, until the Queen gives her gold. Later she/he has to use the restroom, while intoxicated. Stands in front of the trough, next to a guy, and starts lamenting that his "thing" has been taken away, telling the guy how lucky he is, and how she can no longer urinate standing up. :(

The subplots are complicated and mysterious. Everyone seems to be up to something and it is hard for me to follow if there are good intentions or bad intentions. That is part of the mystery.

She also finds out that before she/he was Queen, before the chef inhabited her body, she was not a nice person and was feared.

The Myth Of The Zodiac Killer: This two part documentary argues that no such serial killer as the Zodiac ever existed, but rather, the murders had been perpetrated by unconnected multiple killers, and that most of the Zodiac letters were fakes. Some interesting arguments, but I think the author of the argument is reaching.

The Dark Side Of The Ring: The documentary series looks at the promising career, fall from grace, then unexpected death in a car accident of pro wrestler, Adrian Adonis, just as he began making a come back.
