Elementary

Season 3, episode 17 - T-bone and the Iceman

I was going to wait until I completed the series, but this episode was sort of funny, because the police sketch look just like Torgo (John Reynolds) from Manos The Hands of Fate. I thought that was weird and a bit funny, but mostly weird. Later in the episode, a photo is shown of the suspect, and it is Torgo. However, John Reynolds has been dead since 1966, not long after Manos was released. Obviously, the witnesses are making up the killer. Go Joan Watson for spotting that!

R.I.P. John Reynolds. He was 25. His death was drug related. So laugh at Mr. Mackey all you want. "Drugs are bad. m'kay?"

The Idol (2023) on Max (formally known as HBOMax, formally known as HBO)

All five episodes.

I liked the last, fifth, episode the best. That might be because it was the last episode. The other four were tough for me to watch. By the fourth episode, I imagined I was watching the perversive elements of a David Lynch film, minus the artistic flair.

If this was in the theater, it would be inching towards a NC-17 rating. On Max, it is rated TV-MA.

Ahsoka.
Newest Star Wars series on Disney+, in which Anakin Skywalker's old Padawan must foil a plot by Imperial diehards from bringing Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn to power and overthrow the New Republic. So far, the writers have been able to keep viewers up to speed who might not be familiar with the animated Star Wars shows, which this is largely based on.
Very enjoyable first two episodes.

Last night we finished watching our way through the first three seasons of:

Miss Scarlet & the Duke [2020– ]

Well-described in Wikipedia:

Quote:
In Victorian London, 1882, Eliza Scarlet is left almost penniless when her father, Henry, unexpectedly dies. Although marriage would appear to be her only option for financial security, Eliza resolves to take over her father's detective agency alone, working under his name. Struggling to build her reputation in the male-dominated world of crime-solving, she frequently calls on her childhood friend William Wellington, a gruff Scottish detective inspector of Scotland Yard, for assistance.

Absolutely Excellent! It is Definitely R E C O M M E N D E D Definitely

My bride enjoys police-procedural TV shows. In general, I do not—I think they're just a chance to watch realistic presentations of people doing bad things to each other...and I experienced enough of that growing up.

However, there are some shows in the genre which, due to style or some detail, I like. This is one of those shows.

And I correctly foresaw that my bride would enjoy it, as well.

We both look forward to seeing future seasons of it.

Better Off Ted (2009) on Hulu

Season 1, episodes 1 - 13.

IMDB General Description wrote:
In an amoral science-based company, a manager tries to keep control of his scientists while being pressured by his shrewd boss.

The series starts off funny, although not laugh out loud funny, but still quite funny. As the series progresses, one learns more about the characters and it gets funnier.

Better Off Ted - Wikipedia

Each episode has a commercial for the company, Veridian Dynamics. This is the one from the first episode.

Better Off Ted (2010)

Season 2 (13 episodes)

I enjoyed this series. Too bad it was canceled. It has a silly humor to it, much l like Community's humor was silly.

Last Call.

HBO documentary series concerning a serial killer who had targeted gay men in 1990's New York city. Examined is how homophobia among the public and police had caused a blind eye to be turned to homophobic violence at that time.

Poirot

Season 12, episode 1 - Three Act Tragedy

There is a reference to a gentleman named Mr. Strange, and now I have desire to watch House of Frankenstein.
The episode was good.
