Mystery Science Theater 3000 Episode 423 (season four, episode 23), Bride of the Monster.
A series that shows movies. I'm not going to post every movie under the movie thread because it is a show.
Today, November 23, 2023, is the beginning of the MST3K Turkey Day, viewable on YouTube, the MST3K Gizmoplex, and Shout TV. You don't have to celebrate the U.S. Thanksgiving day to enjoy MST3K Turkey Day. You just need to enjoy wisecracks being made about a movie's dialog, lighting, camera work, direction, etc. There are also little skits during breaks in the film. Canada's Thanksgiving is the second Monday of every October. I'm going to watch until I need to sleep. Thanksgiving breakfast, Chicken Flavored Ramen Noodle Soup (unless you leave it on too long and the water has mostly boiled away.)
The MST3K Thanksgiving Day schedule: (time - episode - movie title) These will be watched in the past at some point.

Ashes To Ashes (2008)
Series 1, Episode 4. Brilliant and frustrating as ever. Some ingenious ideas and great humour, but again ridiculous plot developments and blatantly political propaganda (I accept that the first Thatcher government had its flaws, to say the least, but the alternative would've been another half-decade of Callaghan, Healey and Jenkins, for God's sake....).

I didn't realize that - I'll have to rewatch it!
Philip Glenister, who plays Hunt, has a sort of Northern accent in 'Ashes To Ashes', but it's not all that Mancunian. Like many Southern actors who play the roles of Northerners, he adopts a sort of generic accent with Yorkshire elements. John Thaw, who played Jack Regan in 'The Sweeney', and whom Hunt is meant to resemble, was a Mancunian of course.

Yeah some of it is in Stockport. And when Sam Tyler crashes in the first one it is under the mancunian way in the city center. And loads around the norther quarter as well. They must have filmed at about 4am in the summer months when the streets are dead.
Some time ago I started feeling delinquent because I had only watched Doctor Who up to the end of the Matt Smith era (2013). (Yes, our Doctor Who collection starts at the beginning and includes available reconstructions of missing episodes plus quite a bit of the official and unofficial TV spin-offs. I don't know if this makes me a fan, an addict, or an Aspie.) I decided to get caught up by getting and watching some of the later broadcast stuff. Because it had been awhile since I'd watched any of it I decided to rewatch starting at "The Wedding of River Song", to get better context for the newer stuff.
I've been watching it and my bride is getting roped in, too. She's opted to watch most of it with me and has discovered some interest in the newer Doctor Who broadcasts.
Last night we watched our way to the end of Peter Capaldi's second season (that is, the episode "The Husbands of River Song".
