Just played back "Schnitzelbank" and realized I knew the melody from somewhere else: when I was a kid, I had a recorded (on an LP) version of "The Three Little Pigs" and there was a sequence where the Big Bad Wolf is teaching his children how to cook the pigs, in song. Part of it sounds like the melody to "Schnitzelbank," German accent and all.

Weird....Wonder if the ANIMANIACS writers had the same record?
It's quite possible, since Animaniacs did parodies of songs. One example, is the Goodpigeons their theme sounds a lot like West Side story.

I love Animaniacs. It is one of the few "kids" cartoons that captures the zany, vaudeville spirit of early Bugs Bunny. In college, I wrote a neo-Marxist philosophical essay on the power structures in Pinky and the Brain. (I had to make the assignment interesting to me somehow.) I couldn't get enough of those guys...err...mice. So, yes, I'm pondering what you're pondering! :)

There are 2 things that should happen.
1) They should release every episode on DVD in South Wales.
2) They should make new episodes. I would like to see them make fun of the stuff today and before just after the show finished. They could have the Warners do something like annoy President Obama or Pinky and the Brain could try to somehow take over the world with ipods.

1. As I said before, it's outrageous they don't have DVDs of Animaniacs for release in South Wales.
2. I don't know about poking fun at Obama, but Brain using hypnotic messages through ipods would be funny!

That was a great episode. The entire episode, I mean... they mixed up characters in it, so that Yakko, Wakko, and Slappy went to torment Saddam Hinsane or insane or whatever it was.
