Mark Linn-Baker (just saw MY FAVORITE YEAR again; he was great in PERFECT STRANGERS and his guest shot on LAW AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT). Amazing...and underrated...actor, I think.

Vincent D'Onofrio (LAW AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, FULL METAL JACKET, THE CELL)--he can evoke pathos and be terrifying at the same time.

James Spader (SECRETARY, BOSTON LEGAL...etc.). Much like D'Onofrio, his range is incredible. Looking forward to his new show this fall: THE BLACKLIST.

Michael J. Fox: need I even say why? Glad he's coming back to TV too.

Dwight Schultz: Murdock (A-TEAM), Barclay (STAR TREK: TNG and VOYAGER), a multitude of TV and movie guest spots...and completely believable in every single one of them.

Kate Mulgrew: after STAR TREK: VOYAGER, there was a short-lived show called THE BLACK DONNELLYS in which she played the mother of 5 adult sons. Someone else who can, I think, be 100% genuine in any role.

Jeri Ryan: post-VOYAGER, she's played a lot of attorneys, mostly, and does it WELL. I'd like to see her doing more.

My favourite live-action Hollywood actors are the ones who turn out to be quite diverse with their acting choices and aren't just one-trick ponies (naming no names).

Anyway, Jim Carey was absolutely fantastic in The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind for example. Same with Leonardo di Caprio and Kate Winslet (so much more believable in Revolutionary Road than in Titanic), Robin Williams (The Night Listener) and Helena Boham Carter (when she's not working on something produced by her husband, nor a blockbuster-type film). I really loved Ingrid Bergman and Audrey Hepburn too back in the day too.

It's such a shame Johnny Depp started parodying himself as time went on (re. the recent Lone Ranger), he showed so much promise in his earlier days.

Otherwise, I feel the commanding presence of Jeremy Irons (questionable film choices aside), Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen can't be beat (you don't tend to see that sort of acting any more, especially with the voice) Oh, and scaling down the list to TV and radio, my favourites are David Tennant, Matt Smith (outside of Dr Who), Patricia Routledge, Prunella Scales, Maureen Lipman and Helen Mirren.

And most recently, Bryan Cranston, who has proved without a doubt he's got a far wider range of acting than Malcolm in the Middle allowed him to exhibit; I'll be looking forward to seeing him in the upcoming American Godzilla remake.

I don't believe I have a favorite actor. But I find Lauren Graham (Parenthood, Gilmore Girls) absolutely amazing.

I was a big fan of Michael J. Fox for a long time, having grown up on "Family Ties" and "Back to the Future". I enjoyed some episodes of "Spin City", but haven't bothered with his new show since its premiere. I read both of his biographies, and I commend him for being a rarity in Hollywood by remaining married to the same woman for more than a couple of years.

Gary Oldman's another great talent, but I avoid his darker stuff like "Dracula" (still wish I'd never seen it). I'm looking forward to his role in the "RoboCop" remake, and he did great in the "Harry Potter" films, too. Cheesy as it may be, I also adore his version of Dr. Smith from the 1998 "Lost in Space" movie.

As for actresses, I had a huge crush on Jennifer Love Hewitt for the longest time, to the extent I couldn't watch her work because her curves kept distracting me. I think Liv Tyler's very talented; she made a great Betty Ross in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk", and was disappointed she didn't appear in "The Hobbit".

My list would likely be the same as most peoples here. I would add Burt Lancaster, and Lee Marvin who I don't think have been mentioned yet. If you haven't seen Elmer Gantry, you should do so :)

I am starting to become a fan of Powers Boothe for some reason. Maybe it is because he participates in shooting sports like I do, he seems like a cool guy. I also like Ben Johnson, a very humble man who I wish I could have met.
