I certainly wasn’t happy about the Katy Perry situation myself, but that contestant went on Twitter and ended up saying that he didn’t feel as though he had been sexually harassed. Maybe if he would’ve pressed charges this would have garnered more attention. (Since he ended up changing his tune somewhat, I strongly suspect that American Idol or Katy Perry paid him off.)

It definitely wasn’t cool, though.

There was a lot of high profile cases of serious sexual misconduct/crime with celebrities at the time so that could be part of the reason why it didn’t get much attention.

Also, she wasn’t forcefully kissing someone who was trying to get away as it happens so often in movies. It doesn’t mean that what she did was right, though.

Oh okay I see, I just thought that since the woman chose to be with Bond after, then it must not have been bad for her, if she chooses to be his gf.

I just watched the Kate Perry thing. After she kisses the guy, the guy reacted positively too it and did seem appalled or disturbed by it in anyway. He was smiling about it, so should we care, if he doesn't seem to?

Once again, we can’t judge whether an action is right or wrong by how someone responds to it after the action has taken place when it is too late.

The contestant was very uncomfortable and unhappy about the situation but he was smiling to be polite.

That’s what’s wrong with a Bond type of movie because it encourages this type of thinking. One should never kiss someone unless it’s obvious that they want to be kissed and one shouldn’t keep on kissing when the other person is trying to get away. That’s incredibly creepy!

Why would anyone want to kiss someone who obviously didn’t want to be kissed?

Bond is kind of a stupid ass when it comes to women, anyway.

He might be good with all the gadgetry and all that----but as a lover, he seems like the type that would just flail away. Sort of like some sports and music figures, and the way they treat their "groupies." That women, according to James Bond, would respond merely to the fact that he is James Bond...and just drop dead for him.

Now....John Shaft....now that was a guy who was nice to the women, who listened to women, who respected women-- while being sort of James Bond-like in his spy abilities.

While this man was not a spy, I liked Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza video games a lot better than action heroes like James Bond or any character played by actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Clint Eastwood.

Kazuma Kiryu always respected women. When visiting the hostess clubs of Tokyo he never came in expecting every woman to fall for him because he's a big manly hero. He would talk to the women and get to know them. He never actually "played around" either. He was always straight forward about wanting to remain single because of his true love from the first game but he still enjoyed romancing the pretty hostesses at the club. He developed genuine friendships with these ladies but had no true romantic attachment to them. But it was actually OK seeing how that was the job of these hostesses.

If a guy is going to play around with women he should at least be honest about it and make sure she's ok with it too.

Also Kazuma Kiryu was tough-as-nails and yet he didn't take sadistic pleasure in killing the badguys like many action heroes seem to do. Most of the time he never killed unless he had no choice, and he often felt compassion even towards his own enemies and after defeating them in battle he would try to encourage them to change their ways and wish them well.

In my opinion Kazuma Kiryu was what a truly strong man SHOULD be!

Yeah, you're right, maybe I wasn't taking the social situations of it all seriously enough, and thought of it as mindless entertainment which I shouldn't perhaps.
