Disney's Atlantis, only saw it once when I was a kid and I entirely forgot its plot line. It was pretty good I guess, maybe my second favorite Disney movie behind Treasure Planet.

I saw Ted 2 last night with my 15 year old sister. Am I a bad influence on her?

I watched The Black Cauldron today, it was just okay, half of a good movie. If only it was written a little better it might have been great. I liked the animation style.

Acting Shakespeare by Ian McKellen, a brilliant set of performances.

I just watched "It Follows".

It starts out superbly as an inventive take on "Casting the Runes". It's well directed (I think director David Robert Mitchell likes John Carpenter's "Halloween" a lot) and truly creepy. Stuff for the horror connoisseur.

Sadly I thought the wheels fell off the wagon towards the end as "It" is revealed to be a creature that can be fought by conventional means and the movie becomes a more conventional "teens vs monster" affair.

Nice ambiguous closing scene though :)

Edward Scissorhands

Danny Elfman was interviewed on NPR today and they played an excerpt of music from Edward Scissorhands. I cannot imagine any better music for the movie. It chokes me up a little every time I hear it and every time I watch the story.

Renoir (2012). Pretty much what you'd expect an 'Arthouse' type movie to be. Atmospheric, impressionistic (of course), poetic, etc. Actually quite watchable, concentrates on the situation in Renoir's household during the First World War, near the end of his life, and on the early life of his son, the future film director Jean Renoir.
