Batman

Season 1 (1966)
Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8
episode 1, 2 - The Riddler
episode 3, 4 - The Penguin
episode 5, 6 - The Joker
episode 7, 8 - Mr. Freeze
I've enjoyed watching this. I'm a little tickled that some of the things I was drawn to when I was a six years old I still enjoy. Proof that I'm still a child in some regards. I remember having an interest in the ways the criminals trapped and held the capped crusaders. The Riddler, in episode one, had a vice he places Robin's head in. There was always a "wow" factor in it for me.

No longer being six years old, today I am struck how idea that how things like Mr. Freeze having five fake Batmans and five fake Mr. Freezes seems very comic like for that period. I could also "spot the stuntman" easier. That turned out to be interesting research while watching; all the actors that played Batman that always used a stunt double, and those that did their own stunts. Adam West did not do his own stunts.

Yellowjackets S03e09
The White Lotus S03e07

Both these series are losing the plot a bit, imo.

I've noticed some show seem to do that, especially when they start so strong. They seem to flounder with the plot.
I have not watch White Lotus though. It will likely be one of "those shows" that I watch after it has concluded and think "Wow. This is a pretty good show. Why didn't I watch it when everyone else watched it?" Game of Thrones will be like that. I have not watched it either. I watched the first episode, but it didn't "click" with me.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022)

finished disc 1
episodes 1, 2, 3, 4
(I previously mentioned episode 1)

I was thinking, while watching the show this time, that the one, two, three beat could be one (enter door), two (enclosed part), three (exit door). It isn't really explained like that though.
It could be like three measures of a 3/4 beat
1,2,3 entering
1,2,3 enclose portion
1,2,3 exit.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

It was about transgender athletes, claims versus reality.
It was interesting.

I followed this up with episode 5 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Wild Card vs Tactician.

IMDB description wrote:
A copyright battle between two ATM companies stokes a rivalry between Young-woo and Min-woo. Geu-ra-mi teaches Young-woo to spot a liar.

Watching the two back to back was a little depressing. Too much money/power grab. Too little honesty. Although, Attorney Woo ends with a victory for the truth. Although in the broad scheme of things, the power grab did it's damage, putting one ATM company in a dire position. Min-woo (the Tactician) was also power grabbing, not telling Young-woo about the case. She only learned about it because someone told her about it. Min-woo did give her all the paper work to read, but it was five minutes before the meeting with the client. He had not plan to tell her. He had planned that she would miss the meeting. The client was dismissive of her and she was told by her manager she should have been prepared.

Left me depressed.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Horror of Spider Island (1960)
An English dubbed German film with commentary riffs by Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett..
Women as objects, stranded on an island with a giant spider from a plane crash. Also a muscular guy, sucking in his gut, who they appear to be in heat over. Then some other guys show up. Honestly, I missed that part because I was typing up about John Oliver and Woo Young-woo.
Actual spoiler...
The guy that the sexy young dancing women were stranded with is bit by the spider and becomes a were-spider. Sexy young dancing was the criteria for being hired for a nightclub job in Singapore.
"Were-spider," my words.
Crow says "Hey. I just saw an air molecule that respects women."
Mike Nelson says "I'm glad it's dark. I can imagine my own action scene."

Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022)

finished disc 2
episodes 5, 6, 7, 8
(episode 5 was previously posted)
Actual spoiler

Min-woo writes an anonymous post revealing that Young-woo was hired through connections with Young-woo's dad. It becomes the buzz around the firm, until Choi Soo-yeon says loudly so everyone can hear, filling in the gaps Young-woo's extraordinary academic credentials, pointing out that any other student would have job offers before they graduated, but not Young-woo because she is autistic. She also makes a point that kind of discrimination is illegal in South Korea. She tells Young-woo she should hit Min-woo HARD in the stomach, but Young-woo points out that would be illegal.

Young-woo discovers who her mother is, Tae Su-mi of the Teasan Law Firm, and the confronts her, hitting her in the stomach. I'm kidding about the hitting part. It's touching because her mother, not realizing who she was, had offered her a job on the merit of the skills she has witnessed. Young-woo explains she cannot take the job now she know the full story of her being abandoned.

I've always liked this scene, because initially in the series Choi Soo-yeon seem annoyed that Young-woo has joined the firm. Over the episodes, her true nature is revealed in the little things she does for Young-woo.

This is beautifully photographed and acted. Tae Su-mi's expression is wonderful, but I don't know if she is touched by realizing Young-woo is her daughter, or if she is worried because her secret child is there for everyone to see and possibly ruin her political aspirations. The camera slowly see-saws. Her world is off kilter, giving a dizzy feel. At least that is true for me.

Hyper Knife (2025)

episodes 7 and 8

No lengthy ramblings. No spoilers. I'll simply say that Jung Se-ok (Park Eun-bin) is as far away from Woo Young-woo, Seo Mok-ha (Castaway Diva), Dam Yi (The King's Affection), Chae Song-ah (Do you Like Brahms?), Lee Se-young (Stove League), Jung Yeo-wool (The Ghost Detective), Lee Jeong-joo (Nothing to Lose), and Oh Dong-hee (Age of Youth) as one can get. Rage filled, excitable, and to put a Simpson-esque spin on things, Deadly. I forgot. Hyper active, although she has played happy hyper people before.

(I could add a few more Park Eun-bin films/series I've seen, but I'm being lazy.)

I enjoyed the show very much. Everything builds up to the last five to six minutes.

One spoiler of sorts. The detective in charge of the case of finding the illegal surgeries and the killings is close to retirement.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022)

finished disc 3

episodes 9, 10, 11, 12
Actual spoiler

Min-woo discovers Young-woo is the secret child of Tae Su-mi, and suggest a job at Teasan Law Firm would secure her secret from being discovered. He knows Young-woo is a better attorney and he is worried his contract will not be renewed.

Prior to this, Tae Su-mi paid Young-woo's father a visit. She suggested Young-woo would be better transferring to the United States and joining Teasan's Boston office. She suggests that the U.S. has more autist support, community and treatment options than Korea. I forgot about this and it answers the question I had about Su-mi's reaction to Young-woo informing her she knew Su-mi was her mother.

Also, Batman was the end of disc 2.
