It's nice seeing him in something other than Doc Martin. He is very funny. The show is funny.

You tempted me to take a look at E1. I thought it was only mildly funny but there's not much else going on in television land for me right now, so I'll probably persevere. It might grow on me. I'm hard to amuse but some of these TV shows improve as they go along.

I agree about episode one. I thought it got funnier in episode 2 and 3. We learn something about his wife, more about Warren, and in episode three we get a better picture of his sons. They remind me a tiny bit of Paul Slippery's sons in Fortysomething.

James May's Planet Gin

Episode 32 - James May Makes Lucy Build an Airfix Model
March 26, 2025

This has been in my "queue" to watch for the last two weeks (the month of May). It is just over thirty-three minutes and thirty seconds in length, and I questioned if I would be interested. It turns out I was.

I do not put together Airfix models, but I do have many, many monster models waiting to be painted and put together, and a couple 1990s CART (Indycar) models, F1 car models, and The Homer. It takes a long time for me to complete a model. Decades is not an exaggeration. Are they wonderful masterpieces? LOL! Short answer. No.

That sounds wonderfully nerdy, a TV show about putting together an Airfix model.

I think that is what I like about James May. Of the three presenters on Top Gear, he was the "nerdy" one. Some of it was for show, but I've watched enough videos of him to realize he is actually really like that. I don't know if you watched it, but he says that Lucy Brown will be continue working on the model on her channel. If I spot it, I'll give you a heads up, if you want one.

I bet YouTube has other shows about putting together models, although Airfix models is pretty specific.

I don't have live TV, but if you hear of it cropping up as an on-demand thing on a free service, I'd be grateful to know of it.

I got up to E3 of that. It definitely improved. E3 was the best yet. I laughed several times, and whether or not it makes me laugh is quite a stringent test for a comedy show.

He's got no compassion at all has he? Except for the dead cat in the road, and life taught him that was a mistake.

Binge watching yugioh season 0. Imo, it's the superior yugioh series, because it includes so much more than just the card game. They really need to do more with this series instead of the glorified trading Card advertisements they put out now days.

Last night we finished watching our way through the remainder of:

The Outer Limits [1963–1965]
<=>"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture."

- S2.E13, "The Duplicate Man" [Dec 19, 1964]
- S2.E14, "Counterweight" [Dec 26, 1964]
- S2.E15, "The Brain of Colonel Barham" [Jan 2, 1965]
- S2.E16, "The Premonition" [Jan 9, 1965]
- S2.E17, "The Probe" [Jan 16, 1965]

Unlike the previous batch of episodes, this batch did not have guest actors that I recognized. But I recognized the stories from having seen them before and I believe all five stories were excellent science fiction...especially given that we are talking about a weekly TV show whose last episode broadcast in 1965...and I'll guess that when they filmed these five episodes they must've at least suspected it was the end of the show.
