Sister Boniface Mysteries
streamed from Britbox

Series 4, episode 2 - Biff! Pow! Zap!

Sister Boniface and the Reverend Mother visit an estate where the Reverend Mother wishes to discuss the future of the convent. Sister Boniface delivers the Reverend Mother in the sidecar.

Meanwhile, the estate is being used for the hit crimefighter series, Foxman. It involves Foxman and his ward, Beaver.
The star that plays the Catwoman like villain called the Minx, a Cat Burglar, is murdered. Who dun it?
And Officer Sam Gillespie ends up in hospital after being wacked on the head, out cold. Who dun it?
It is a good parody of the 1960s Batman.
I really enjoy Lorna Watson. I enjoyed Foxman and Beaver. (so silly!)

Peacemaker.

Second season debut, in which Peacemaker tries to join a superhero group, which goes south. And then he becomes aware of an alternate reality in which his brother is still alive, and his father isn't a racist a$$hole. And then his alternate self walks in on him... and it becomes a worst case scenario.

Doctor Who

Series 7 (2012), episode 2 - Dinosaurs on a Space

Matt Smith

What a delightful episode. Amy Pond, Rory Williams, his dad Brian Williams (Birthday boy Mark Williams), Solomon (David Bradley who I just saw in Harry Potter, and will become the Doctor at a couple points in time and space), Riddell (Rupert Graves aka Greg Lestrade from Sherlock), and Robot 1 (David Mitchell who played John/James Taylor in Ludwig). Solomon is really despicable.

Okay, forget all of that. It's Doctor Who! There is a reason I have all of these Doctor Who episodes on disc, and I never take the time to watch them. I should. Park Eun-bin can wait.

Morecambe and Wise

Episode 1 from their first series on ITV, December 1980. I don't know how well known this British comic duo are these days - Eric Morecambe died in 1984, and that was the end of the partnership (obviously). I have a feeling that even many British people below the age of 40 probably don't know much about them, or have even heard of them.

They were best known for their Christmas shows on BBC in the 1960s and 1970s, but also did weekly shows on the BBC from time to time. In 1978 the Xmas specials moved to the independent ITV channel, followed by the weekly productions a bit later. The ITV shows were just 24 minutes in length, and had a bit of a reputation of being inferior to the old BBC ones, but the one I watched was fine and generally pretty funny. I'd still rather watch these than any modern so-called comedians from the last two or three decades.

Just watched the next Morecambe & Wise episode (10 December 1980, two days after John Lennon was assassinated). The guest star was the Scottish actress Hannah Gordon, and very good she was as well.

Last night we watched all seven episodes of:

Doctor Who [1963–1989]: "The Ambassadors of Death" [Mar 21–May 2, 1970]

I didn't think it was one of their better efforts, even for classic Doctor Who.

Morecambe & Wise

Episode 3 of Series One from 17 September 1980. The dvd menu says December 17, but a bit of research clearly shows that this series was broadcast in September-October 1980.

This stuff is just soooo un-PC, it would leave quite a lot of Gen Z people and Millennials choking on their alcohol-free lager and their avocados, LOL.

The head cameraman for this show was called Albert Almond, according to the end credits.

Doctor Who

Series 8

episodes 1 - 4

3 - Robot of Sherwood
This was fun because when I first saw the episode, I did not know who Ben Miller was. Now I do, and I recognized him as the Sheriff of Nottingham. That was fun.

4 - Listen
The Doctor pursues knowledge. What is under the bed when we sleep at night? We learn something about The Doctor in this episode.

I always liked Peter Capaldi's Doctor because he could be so alien, and funny. At least the way he was written was. He is one of the few actors I was familiar with before he was asked to play him. Jodi Whitaker is the other. Well, I guess I have to add Tom Baker to that list, but I didn't follow him. I saw him in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Oh, Peter Davidson, because my ex-wife use to watch All Creatures Great and Small.
