Is it true that SJW movies only exist because of Trump?

Oh okay. Well the writer in the video says this whole SJW movement in Hollywood storytelling started once Trump got into office. So I feel he would know more about it and does not have a reason to make that up, or at least I don't think?

Which made me feel bad about strongly disliking the first God's Not Dead film-- He really is not dead, but I'm not one of those who think that fundamentalist Christianity is the one and only true expression of Him. Apparently, however, my dislike of that film means that fundy Christianity is that one and only true expression, and I'm wrong to disagree.

Well one thing about SJW politics in Hollywood is that there seems to be hypocrisy in it here and there, by the SJW people themselves possibly. I read about how the actor Elliot Page, recently came out as trans, but his show that he stars in will still continue with him and he won't be fired or anything.

But only a year ago, Scarlet Johannson got a lot of backlash from the public and was pressured by everyone, the SJW community, even possibly her producers, into quitting a role, of a trans character, because she is not trans in real life.

So it feels like a double standard, because a cysgender actor is not allowed to play a transgender role, according to SJW people, but it's perfectly okay for a transgender actor to play a cysgender role. It's things like this that cause me to think that SJW people in Hollywood, are hypocritical.

One of the reasons I cannot stand so many Hollywood movies lately is because of the SJW elements they try to force into their the stories. This is why I have been watchings so many foreign films the last few years.

However, I saw the video where a Hollywood screenwriter talks about how they use SJW politics because of who is President. He discusses it at 31:55 into the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj2X_yhUxEQ&t=1710s

So he is says that these SJW politics have been pushed ever since Trump was elected and that his career has had a comeback because of it.

However, is this true though? If so, does that mean that once Trump is out of office, whether it would be this year, or four years from now that, theoretically, the SJW movement in Hollywood will leave him with him?

I definitely agree that SJW stuff has been prominent for a few years now, and not just in film. Upper Echelon Gamers, a favourite YouTuber of mine, has done a video on this, specifically on the BAFTAs and their policy about inclusion which will exclude a lot of films. I didn't know that it could specifically have been linked to Trump though. Maybe after Jan 20th it will see a slow decline?

Well the academy awards are chaning their policies and qualifications to get in, to appear more 'SJW' it seems.

But this is set up to take effect in 2024 it seems. Where as Trump will be out by then. So why they are gearing up this SJW movement for 2024 when Trump is going to be long gone?

Because Trump and the SJW movement are completely unrelated.

Ah yes, forgot about that. I'm with you on this one RE: start date, but I dislike the general SJW trend. There's a fine line between inclusion and/or political themes being genuine and it being forced after all.

But in the my OP, the video I linked does have a Hollywood writer saying that the SJW movement came into Hollywood after Trump was elected though.

You have only ONE Hollywood writer stating his opinion, which does not necessarily reflect reality; nor is it de facto proof of his own assertion.  Any attempt at self-validation automatically fails to validate the assertion.

If two people arrive in one location at the same time, does that mean that one caused the other to arrive?  If so, which one?  Correlation does not imply causation.

You seem to have based your opinion on a random statement uttered by someone who seems to only want his opinions heard.

I believe Fnord is correct. However, Trump could be a possible partial cause, but only in part, and it's not definite that there's any link between his election in 2016 and the rise in SJW-ified content.
Here's the video I mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm unsure how much of its contents has already been discussed in this thread though. It focuses on the Oscars.

As I posted before, movies addressing social injustice and the "warriors" who fight against it have been around since moving pictures were invented, and long before Donny-Boy was faking bone spurs to avoid military service.

Indeed. But I think there's a difference between films that have that plotline genuinely inserted and those that force it. The same is true of inclusion of minorities.

Oh okay, it just seems that the SJW movement seems more prevailent now than ever in movies or more potent unless I am wrong? For example, a lot of American movies seem to be more about it now than ever before.

Oh okay but what does it have to with in this context?
