Yes I consider myself a Horror Nerd because I grew up with the Genre that it's one of my Obsessions including the movies from 80's Aliens being one of my favorites also even like Asian Horror Movies but I refuse to watch Torture porn movies like Saw and had to walk out of the movie Piranha to stand up for my Morales.

I wouldn't consider myself "obsessed" but I'd say the genre ranks at the top for me. Not fond of excessive gore/ blood etc, I'm more for the mood/ atmosphere..the overall spook factor. Didn't like "Saw" either (after seeing the first two..was enough), same with one called "Captivity". The "Piranha" remake was pitiful. Way over the top. I guess that's what they were going for. Have seen some of the Asian flicks, also J-Horror ..can't remember specific titles offhand but did enjoy most.

Sure. I can say I am fan. No Child's Play or Saw for me, though.

I grew up with horror films as well but like a lot of things I'm not too pleased with what they've become. I use to be able to watch more bad stuff, like Mosquito but now I'm more picky with my time and have to enjoy the movie as well. Most of the stuff I like is either from the 20s-to-50s along with the 80s. The first produced some really high quality, classic stuff while the late 70s and 80s were a renascence for gory gross out movies, like the original Night of the Demons. I like a few odd out contemporary movies, like The Last Exorcism, Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, REC but am sick to death of all the remakes, rehashes and SAW movies.

Horror movies were largely a childhood thing for me too, because I could still go rent them at the mom and pop video places (back when they existed) and it was always fun looking at the back cover as a kid, scaring yourself. That was a good element of the fun, now its not really the same with netflix, everything a click away etc.

WAY too many remakes. I think the majority of people don't care about the quality or substance of movies anymore and they're still mad so people and friends can go out to the cinema with friends or get drunk at home and have something to watch on the HD tv.

I'll pretty much watch any horror movie. I do actually like Saw and even Hostel, though I didn't care about Hostel the first time I saw it. Something about the characters I didn't care for. I'm oddly fascinated with gore, but it doesn't make a movie.

I particularly like old 70-80s maybe early 60s horror like movies from HG Lewis. A lot obscure films. I've seen I Drink Your Blood. One time they had The Incredible Melting Man on mst3k.

I've seen a couple good Italian horror films like Suspiria and Deep Red. I like Asian horror. Sick nurses comes to mind as a recent one. The original Ring movies, though Ringu 0 was a bore fest. Could've slept through that one.

What do I find the scariest or creepiest? Films like Paranormal Activity (first 2, not afterwards, the 3rd wasn't subtle enough, so it wasn't scary.) Blair Witch. The Last Exorcist. I just love the found footage based ones, because they leave a lot to the imagination and your mind is always ALWAYS scarier than anything, so the less you see and the less you know, the scarier.

One of the things I liked about older horror movies is that they didn't use CG. Nowadays when they use CG, it doesn't look tangible. Like it's not really there, but in the 70s and 80s, they used puppetry and all sorts of physical objects for monsters and such. The less CG the better, I say.

I grew up with horror movies and horror fiction, and I still love the genre. I'll watch everything from blood and gore stuff like Saw, or Hostel, or movies where the horror is never seen but is still palpable, such as The Blair Witch Project, or Paranormal Activity. I love where horror crosses over into the science fiction genre, such as The Thing, Alien, or Event Horizon. I have a special place in my heart for movies like the original The Hitcher, most Lovecraft film adaptions, and A Nightmare On Elm Street. The horror movies that I really dislike are mindless crap like the Friday The 13th franchise that has spawned countless sequels that blend into one another, and are only interested in a high body count.

I always enjoy Evil Dead (1, 2 and 3), Chainsaw Massacre (original 1, 2 and 3), and The Thing (my favorite); X-Files and Millennium too for the TV.
