I read the book and saw the film. Both are impressing.

The book has a peculiar, but nice style of writing. The film was nice, because of the architecture of the house and the setting of the story.

I wanted to see the movie, but my parents weren't able to take me to the movies to see it.

That wasn't very sad when the boy got to "take a shower" at the end since he was the commandant's son.

The boy is innocent. He's a child. He doesn't know the real world.

I think the most evil Nazi was Kotler, who beaten up Pavel to death for accidently Spilling the wine.

Most 'evil behaviour' in the film comes from fear.

- Kotler is beating up Pavel, because he is afraid that the commandant questions his loyalty because of his father
- The moment Bruno sees Shmuel in his house, he lies about knowing him, because he is afraid of Kotler
- The mother was in the beginning really distant to Pavel, probably because she is afraid of his sickly appearance

The moments were still conscious choices, but there was fear involved.
