They're not really "real", some of them are usually fake and scripted.

You just figured that out recently? They're all scripted, or else it would be just some boring kids acting boring. On top of that, when they audition the reality tv actors, they'll tell them "OK, we need a b***h, a nice girl, a he-man, a nerd, a drunken girl, a racist, a black guy with a hot temper etc... So the actors are told to behave in that genre to start with, then they are given a script to kinda follow according to their "character", and they are told to create as much conflict and fights and hook ups as they can because that's what gets ratings, and to drink a lot, and voila! Another reality show!

In norwegian reality shows it's always the bald guy who has a temper.

I kind of figured that back when survivor was going into it's third season.

They aren't necessarily scripted, cause I know some people who were on one of these shows, but they are faked. The situations are deliberately exacerbated or synthesised to make emotional car-crash television.

all T.V. is false.

I was once fishing at a lake in England when a TV crew arrived.

They got "real" anglers to catch all the fish before the star angler arrived he just posed for the cameras with them.

For action shots they just got someone from the crew to hold the line and put a bend in the rod.

When I saw the prog on TV months later it all clicked.

Also, if you really believe that the "stars" on these desert isle progs really sleep out all night you will believe anything.

yep,
big brother finally finished here this year. won't be gone forever though i don't think. i hope it is forever gone.
was nothing but the show trying to create either romance or fights. that was it.

others shows do that a lot.
the shows are either fake or heavily manipulated. i wonder why people even bother signing up for those shows where all they do is try and inflict psychological trauma on you.

I hate to sound elitist (I am not, I am an ordinary working Joe) but “Big Brother” is total moron fodder.

My sister up in Seattle, she had a gay friend that tried to get into a season of Survivor, but they rejected him because he wasn't "flaming" or "girly" enough. Damn him for having actual survival skills and being manly.

And off on a segue, I was surprised a few weeks ago when I was watching Intervention, the producer of the show actually stepped in and told an alcoholic that she couldn't drive, as drunk as she was. I think that's the first time I've ever seen a producer of a reality show do something responsible.
