Saw this film tonight. Wow! What a wonderful and disturbing tale. Has anyone seen it?

Beware the Beldam!

Do you mean "Coraline", the film based on the Neil Gaiman children's story?

Or am I (once again) oblivious to some fun new film?

Yes, Coraline. Sorry. Thanks for catching that. :)

Yes, and it was good.

Anyone read "The thief of always" by Clive Barker?

The plot is almost identical to "Coraline."

I thought it was a cute kid's film...but as an adult watching it, it was extremely predictable. I wish the villain turned into a spider in the end though, even though she didn't.

I've watched the movie and I've also read this book. They are both good. The book Coraline I have also read but wouldn't recommend for anyone that isn't a child.

Yes, I saw it. One of the best films of the year. Best animated film so far.

I have yet to see Up!, which releases here in a few months.

I thought that movie was pretty good. However, I think the book was much better. :)

The art style doesn't appeal to me, in fact it kind of repels me so I have no interest in seeing it.

I saw the preview of it the other night, it looks creepy and I like that animation style.

Yes, and I was disappointed. I expected more from an acclaimed horror writer.

I haven't seen Coraline, but I read the book years ago. It was a huge disappointment. So far I haven't liked any of Gaiman's books. I have given up on this writer now.

Oh, "Interworld" by Gaiman and Michael Reaves is okay, though.

I read the book, then saw the movie. I liked the book better, though didn't like it that much. The only book of Gaiman's I really enjoyed was "Good Omens", which he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett.

I liked the 3D but the movie sucked.

The plot made almost no sense at all.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could make a kid's movie that was actually uplifting and would inspire children and fill them with wonder?

But no! We must have the predictable cackling shrieking bad guy who must be defeated by violence.

I like creepy kids' movies (now that I'm an adult, that is) and I could watch this one over and over if it weren't for my kids. The middle kid, for all his apparent toughness, is very vulnerable to frightening imagery. I like the music especially.
