Does anybody like watching cookery programmes? I've got into the Hairy Bikers, they are brilliant. Very entertaining and the food looks really nice. I also enjoy watching Delia Smith and Come Dine with Me, they have some interesting characters on. I am a bit of a foodie! I don't like Jamie Oliver, though, he has become "holier than thou" and full of himself. Irritating!

Julia Child. Her roast suckling pig was a masterpiece.

I don't think this is the same category but I love Gordon Ramsay's shows. (especially Kitchen Nightmares)

He was a good TV chef before becoming a reality tv icon/casualty. You couldn't follow his recipes but he was good to watch and the food looked amazing.

Yes he is exaggerating some on hell's kitchen (compare the US with UK one and the UK one seems like a kids show). But I think that he is incredibly smart. The way he saves restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares is pretty amazing (even if theres a lot of added drama and the fact that the show is great publicity he still does a great job). But you can't really learn much about cooking watching it, I would probably be bored to death watching a traditional cooking show tho...

If we go by not just cooking shows then Man Vs Food, No reservations, and Andrew Zimmer who gave up bizarre foods for Bizarre World. And yeah Alton.

I wouldn't mind having Nigella in my kitchen.

But seriously, some of my fav tv chefs would be Heston Blumenthal, Nick Nairn, Gary Rhodes.
I'm not really a fan of Jamie Oliver, and certainly not of Gordon Ramsey.

Ramsay is such a bastard. he is entertaining though :p

I've always liked Jamie Oliver, he speaks in an annoying way but his recipes are awesome.

I like Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall but when they rant on about something I dont take no notice. I never cooked anything I seen on TV anyway. I just like to see the kind of things they can make. Its just entertainment for me.

Keith Floyd is definitely legend of cookery. My mum was a big fan so I would see a lot of his programs while growing up but I like most that he travels the world too.

The Hairy Bikers are good also. I watched them today on BBC2. They make me think of the male version of the two fat ladies.

I remember watching a few Iron Chef episodes a long time ago. I thought some of the chefs were legends on that but I cant remember no names. Would like to watch it again.
