Guiding Light is being cancelled (or is it?)

The longest running series on television, Guiding Light, is being cancelled in September. It originally premiered on radio in 1937, two years before television even existed.

However, there is the possibility that it could continue on a cable network or online.

R.I.P. Guiding Light.

The opening theme of the final season, with lyrics, had a melody that sounded like a commercial for a megachurch.

The last time I remember a soap theme with lyrics was the theme to One Life To Live, from the late 80s (sung by Peabo Bryson).
