I don't know why I can relate so much to Charlie Brown, but he's up there with my favorite cartoon characters. He's always looking for the deeper meaning, but he's unable to feel like everyone else. These two links are only the first half of the Charlie Brown Christmas episodes, but it's all I could find on youtube at the moment.

That's also one of my Christmas cartoons. I relate to Charlie, as well.

The melancholy tone of that cartoon is very comforting.

One of the things I love about the Peanuts series is the music of Vince Guaraldi. Very cool jazz.

I know what you mean about Guaraldi's music. The way he can take such a simple melody and add that syncopated bass line for that one theme from the Peanuts movies was genius! Very good pianist as well.
I too can relate to Charlie Brown. "...What's that?" "The fear of everything." "That's IT!"

I have a bunch of Guaraldi's music downloaded. I listen to some of it year 'round. It strikes the right note for a mope... soothing, reminding me of when things were simpler, letting me feel as bad as I do at the time but not so bad that I become maudlin, because it comforts me at the same time.

This year I'm finding that O Tannenbaum is the most affecting. I guess it's because that's what they play when everyone's sort of turned on him and he walks away with the little tree.

Every time I see one of those pink foil trees in the store, I think and even say the same line...

"This really brings Christmas close to a person."

My kids, however, prefer, "I've killed it."

I haven't seen it in years, but I saw the spoof of it on Robot Chicken.

That sounds like me in a nutshell.
