Love Rimmer- he makes the show worth watching- not that I don't love Cat, Kryten, and Lister ( and Holly)...but it wouldn't be complete without Rimmer- who know if he is an Aspie? He's funny, that is what counts.

Rimmer: "But I never even so much as returned a library book late! First-degree murder? A thousand people? ...I would've remembered!"
Mind Probe: "Your willful negligence to reseal a drive plate endangered the lives of the entire crew on board the Jupiter mining vessel, the Red Dwarf."
Rimmer: "...Oh, THAT!"

I'm torn on whether I like him or Lister better. Though I'd rather get drunk and play guitar (with 5 strings, 3 a G) with Lister than listen to Rimmer's Risk campaign stories while hammond organ music plays. But two things that really steals my heart with Rimmer is when he goes insane and wears a red and white gingham dress and army boots in Quarantine, and sings the Rimmer song in Blue.

It may be because it is 1am here, but I found that much more hilarious than I should have; gave me goosebumps  I might pick this show up.

You probably found it a healthy amount of hilarious. It makes me laugh hysterically every time I watch it.

You should definitely check out Red Dwarf if you haven't, it's absolutely brilliant. I could watch it in endless cycles.

I know that Rimmer is sometimes not a nice man but I feel sorry for him.

When I saw the youtube clip I saw a woman in a red top at the back of the "ghost train car", I do not recall seeing her in the TV show.

Who is she ?

That's Kochanski. Series 7 WATCH OUT SPOILER saw the departure of Chris Barrie (Rimmer) and they had to write Kochanski into the script as a replacement for the rest of the season. It's that moment where Red Dwarf jumped the shark and was given a dismal rating for the rest of the show's run (even after Rimmer returned in the 8th season). Though call me crazy but I still found 7 and 8 funny.

That was my prized Christmas present this year :) I like how Lister stuck to his old leather jacket from the earlier seasons.

Yes it was a good choice to go with the leather jacket. Craig was so pleased to be able to still fit into it.

The dvd came out on my birthday so it was my very happy birthday present. Except for the fact that it got lost in the mail and they had to send a replacement so I didn't get it for a few months. But I still enjoy that it was released on my birthday.

The only thing I didn't like about Back to Earth was that it made me watch Blade Runner, which I had tried to watch before but got bored with. But I wanted to get all the jokes so I sat through it all, only for Red Dwarf.

How he managed to fit in it plus a middle aged spread (AKA too many pies on the Corrie set!) I don't know! I love how every time Rimmer is mentioned that wonderful video always appears!

How could it not? Every time I think of Rimmer I think of that video.

If Cat was mentioned I would post this:
