it depends on how strongly you feel the movie should be like the book. the movie is how the director, spike jonze, interpreted it and how he imagined the world of the wild things. it is not a childrens movie and was never billed as such. i don't want to give too much away, but specific emotions all children feel are put into the movie in a very raw and personal way. i was moved to tears at a few points and i rarely if ever cry. personally i felt it was a good adaptation. this book was one of my childhood favorites, so maybe i am biased to like the movie. however i think i went into the movie with more of an open mind than most people. i let the spike jonze show me what he wanted, instead of saying "the movie must be like this." i highly recommend watching the movie. i was never one for critics anyways. i like to decide whether a movie is good or not on my own.

I liked it, though my father found it a little bit confusing. I guess it is true that it has raw emotion of what children can be like (well he threw a tabtrum and apparently bit his mother), but I found that maybe it could have a few lessons to teach children about their wild side, simular to the book. There are parts that don't make sense in the movie, but I think they were done as to either be artistic, or purely for the story, the ccgi was good too.

I didn't see much point to the movie. It is more for little kids.

I adored it...it was very quiet and had little dialogue...almost like a silent film...and it really calmed me and brought me to a almost childlike state of mind..a great film.
