I was supposed to be in a documentary about animals and autism but they "couldn't get the funding". But in reality Meerkat Manor was getting ready to air in the US and they probably didn't want two meerkat shows on at the same time. Even if mine was just going to be a one time thing. I hate them for making meerkats so popular and now the are supposedly everyone's favorite animal but my main grude with them is their programing. When we first got Direct TV back in late 95 you had to ask for Animal Planet seperetly. I beg and pleaded with my parents to get it and the finnaly gave in. I was fixated on it. I hated Steve Irwin from the beginning and wished for a crocodile to do him in because he had it coming. They must have cancled this eppisode but he once took a wild pig, tied it up and dangled it above the water where a crocodile was known to be while it was still alive. I have never forgiven him for that. So what if the pig was ferial, does that mean it is immue to pain and fear? I have never seen that eppisode since and everyone else seems to have forgotten it but it really did happen.

Such wonderful programs and eventualy in late 99 the crendla creme came out. Animal X, Twisted Tales, Animal Legends. My three favorite shows ever but then animal planet got stupid and cancled them. They started making programs that focused on domesticated animals and you would only see a show about tigers or something once in a blue moon and it was always a repeat. Then they started making shows such as Animal Cops that focused on the people more than the animals but at least they showed you the progress the aniumals were making. Jockeys and Venom ER were Animal Planet's worse. It focused on the riders and never on the horses. Horse racing is a cruel sport anyway and if animal planet is so against the abuse of animals why are the condoning it? Venom ER had nothing to do with snakes so why was it here? But now Animal Planet is going for shock tactis and violence such as with Untamed & Uncut and Weird True & Freaky. Untamed & Uncut is protraying animals as criminals. At least "Monsters Inside Me" is on Discovery Health instead now. Some of their shows have absouelty nothing to do with animals at all such as "I survived". If Animal Planet is so against the abuse of animals why are most of their sponsers companies that test on animals? Why do they have a big dog show sponsered by Iams? If Animal Planet truely cared like they say they do they could easily put an end to all forms of animal testing but then they would loose the majority of their sponsors. They are selfish hypocrytes.
