I've Written A TV Show Pilot Pitch and need some advice
Hello everybody,
I've written a TV show pilot pitch and I just wanted to gauge a bit of a reaction. I find out in 2 weeks if I've made the shortlist and if I do, it gets open to public voting. The reason I'm asking all this is because it's a science fiction show and the daughter of one of the character's actually has AS in the storyline, although the show itself is about more than just that. As I'm a bit social phobic and there's been a little bit of negativity on here lately, I thought I'd post a question in preparation for making the shortlist.
If I do and I posted the video here, do you think that would be a smart decision or would I be opening myself up to ridicule? Making this show is important to me - it's been a major obsession for a year now - but I wouldn't want to risk for spammers who enjoy hurting others.
A little advice would be appreciated. Do I mix work/passion with wrong planet?
Of course you open yourself to criticism. That's just the nature of the business. Some people are professional critics for a reason, other people just have their opinions. Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.
The fact that this has been an obsession could be problematic - ideas need to be flexible in that field. Don't cling too tightly. You never know what will change tomorrow, or three years from now. Might be able to fix things, maybe not. At least you will have tried. Stick to your principles, but bend on the details.
