I don't know. I haven't seen anything written by James Vanderbilt, nor anything directed by Marc Webb. But I'm not fundamentally against the idea of a reboot. I thought Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies were pretty lackluster (with the possible exception of Spider-Man 2, which was acceptable). The dialogue in both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3 was nothing short of atrocious, almost George Lucas-esque, and the story of Spider-Man 3 was a jumbled mess that seemed like something a ten year old made up after having sat up all night watching movies. So I'm all for a reboot. The question is if they'll do it any better.

HELL YES

Spider-Man 3 wasn't that great.

Here is the Wikipedia link about the actor who is the new Peter Parker.

@vince: i thought the original spider-man was pretty good. it wasn't amazing, there were some flaws, but overall, it was good. B
spider-man 2 was great. the action scenes and villain were amazing. the inner conflict of peter parker was done pretty well. B+
spider-man 3 was a huge disappointment. the action scenes were good, but the acting/writing was atrocious. C

:P How about a Reboot reboot? A live-action version this time...maybe some sort of crossover with Resident Evil...

Actually, I've had enough Spidey for a while. And the whole Hulk franchise seems jinxed. Did that Green Hornet movie ever come out?

I want someone to do a decent Vampirella movie. Surely they could make that costume work if they painted it on with liquid Latex?

My biggest disappointment with Spiderman 3 was Venom. Not muscular enough at all to play the part. Though I can't say Peter's voice or dialogue was entertaining - at least not prior to the black suit. 1 & 2 I haven't seen in so long I forget.

I really don't think we need another Spider-man franchise for at least a decade or two.

Spiderman 1 was kind of blah, 2 was excellent, 3 not so good. I'm not sure if a reboot is a good idea or not.

I found 1 to be good in terms of story and direction, but the dialogue was terrible ("It's you who are out, Gobby! Out of your mind!" is right up there with "You're breaking my heart, Ani" and "Only a Sith deals in absolutes"), and the Green Goblin's helmet-mask was awful. They cast a guy who has a perfect face for the Green Goblin and they put a ridiculous halloween mask on him? How dumb can a costume designer get? They should have just thrown some yellow face paint and a green hood on him. And don't say "But his head would be unprotected! It would be wreckless!". He's the freaking Green Goblin. He's supposed to be wreckless. He's crazy. That's the damn point.

Oh I heard about this from this video by ItsJustSomeRandomGuy's video:

Well at least in this version they would not have basterdised Venom, I do wonder though how they are going to sell it when the other three are so fresh in mind, are they going to have to diferentiate it some how.

The first two movies were great.

Mark Webb, awesome surname, has only directed one prior movie: 500 Days of Summer, from last summer.

I think a reboot is a good idea. I love the first two movies alot but there were just a few tiny flaws such as the use of organic webbing. In the comics he used web shooters and spiders make webs from their rear ends.

Andrew Garfield- Fantastic Actor especially the two parter episode of Doctor Who he was in.
Marc Webb- 500 Days of Summer Is A Truly Remarkable Movie

Fun fact: Andrew Garfield is only making $500k and Webb is making 1.5

Also some of the gals in the running to play Gwen Stacey
Hilary Duff
Teresa Palmer
Imogen Poots
Emma Roberts
etc.

What do you think the title will be? Here's a few suggestions, just a gag of course:
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Spectacular Spider-Man
Spider-Man Begins
