I find myself attracted to that man. His films are amazing. Anyone else like them too? My favourite is Palindromes, it blows my mind every time.

I especially like this quote from it:

"People always end up the way they started out. No one ever changes. They think they do, but they don't. If you're the depressed type now, that's the way you'll always be. If you're the mindless, happy type, that's the way you'll be when you grow up. You might lose some weight, your face might clear up, get a body tan, a breast enlargement, a sex change - makes no difference. Essentially… from in front, or from behind… whether you're thirteen or fifty, you'll always be the same."

Palindromes is a great film! Happiness is also interesting. I can't remember if I ever watched Storytelling or Welcome to the Dollhouse but I meant to. I'd remember if I saw them again, which I plan to do sometime anyway.

From Palindromes, I really love the song Lullaby. It was so appropriate and beautiful that I went and found it online so I could listen to it whenever.

Another good quote to add to yours: "I want to have lots and lots of babies so I will always have someone to love." Something like that. It's so sweet and also a bit heartbreaking.

Also, thought I'd point out that you're missing the 'n' from Todd Solondz.

That quote is certainly interesting; I will look into the film. It reminds me of another quotation: "It is out of nothing you came, and it is into nothing you will go."

I liked "Welcome to the Dollhouse" and "Happiness" but I hated "Storytelling" so much that I haven't really been able to look at his films since. Maybe I'll look at "Palindromes" some time. Who knows. I just felt that he was being gratuitously offensive in "Storytelling" and even when I tried to give the film a second chance, I still couldn't stand it.

I like the quote from "Palindromes". It sounds like something I would agree with.

Well, I suppose that's why we need all sorts of artists. His stuff may not work for me, but it may communicate ideally to you. I'll give it some more time and maybe one day I'll be able to look at one of his films again. :)

I remember really enjoying Welcome to the Dollhouse and Happiness. I don't think I've seen anything else by him.
