My thing is why go on national tv and embarrass yourself with your personal issues. My boyfriend is cheating, my girlfriend is cheating, etc. I'm having an affair with my spouse's sister, etc. I wouldn't want to tell the world my personal issues. Maybe these people get $$$?
Of course they get money - there's a base amount that has to be paid to anyone who appears on camera on a television show (aside from the audience) because it's a Union specification - and the amount goes up if you actually
speak while on camera. There have been several exposes uncovering people who make careers out of appearing on these 'reality' based shows, making up a different personal crisis for each one. which shows you that the screening process for determining their legitimacy is extremely lax. I'm convinced the Jerry Springer show actually hires homeless people as actors and coaches them on outrageous things to say. I'm still waiting for
BumFights to come out as a daily syndicated program, co-hosted by Colin Quinn and Nick DiPaulo.
