what's that twilight-y story i'm thinking of where someone is driven mad by re-living something over and over?

i think it may be on a ship in the outer limits/twilight zone, but i may be thinking of something else as well. like where in tales from the crypt there's a "lightbulb moment" for the characters.

like the play "the importance of muffins".


thoughts? any other similar tales?
