Lately, I've been going to the movies a lot and I'm going again next weekend on my birthday, But there's one problem: I can't decide on my what movie to see. "Toy Story 3" is a maybe for me and I definitely don't wanna see "Twilight: Eclipse" or "The Last Airbender". Which leaves me down to my top 3 choices: "Despicable Me", "Grownups", or "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". So, what movie I should see?

Of all the movies you mentioned, Toy Story 3 would be my top pick followed by Despicable Me. None of the others appeal to me. So I guess I'll vote for Despicable Me.

Toy Story 3, of course.

Toy Story 3 100% I mean why go see a mediocre animated film when you can see a Pixar Masterpiece.

I'm always happy to skip anything with Adam Sandler in it (how his career survived Little Nicky I will never understand), so 'Grownups' would be a NO brainer.

I know its supposed to be Aspie subculture, but I despise Anime (except for Astro Boy :D ), so Last Airbender since it can't be any better than its source, is out before its in.

Eclipse...hmm..the only thing worse than a chick flick (besides Anime), is a teen chick flick. Gag me with a spoon.

Sorcerer's Apprentice. A fantasy film with Nicholas Cage. Isn't that an Oxymoron? Or just an actor moron?

Steve Carrell is always good for a giggle, the trailers for Despicable Me are amusing, and Pixar almost never misses, so...

I'd say its a coin-toss between Despicable Me and Toy Story 3. Check the reviews and when you get there see whichever one isn't sold out. The see the other one when that lets out. :P

I concur.

Sorcerer's Apprentice reminds me of The Vampire's Assistant, for some reason. That was actually better than I thought it was going to be, but there is no need for a thinly-disguised remake.

The only Adam Sandler movie I really liked was Click.

Why do you hate anime?

Also TLA isn't an anime but it is still a terrible film in general and will no doubt get razzies this year.

But serious see Toy Story it was amazing.

Of the ones you mentioned, I'm interested in the Sorcerer's Apprentice and Despicable Me. I'm not interested in Toy Story 3 as I thought the first 2 were kinda boring.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American show, albeit heavily influenced by anime. It's a fantastic show, and I highly recommend it. It's probably the best western cartoon show I've had the pleasure of watching.

The Last Airbender, on the other hand, is a travesty. Avoid it like the plague. M. Night Shyamalan is done after this.

I admire it's technical merits at the time and still do. However, the story, which is by far the most important part of any film (well, except slap stick comedies) just isn't that good. It tries to be all things and just doesn't succeed. The drama it has isn't interesting enough to make up for the lack of humor. The humor it has (and it does have some) isn't strong enough to make up for the lack of drama. Most of the characters aren't very interesting so it's hard to make an emotional connection to them. Granted, they are just toys, but still.

Despicable me. I heard grown up's was just one of those movies that they advertise well, and then the movie ends up sucking.

Uhm...Speed Racer...Pokemon...

Stories with not an ounce of substance, but lots of "Aah! Ooh! Unh! Gasp!" and stupid psuedo-fantasy plots with holes the size of galaxies...

C'mon, Godzilla movies are more entertaining than that elementary schoolgirl nonsense.

If you're over six years old and male, and watching Anime, there's something seriously wrong with your mental development that goes way beyond AS.

Even I lost interest in Astro Boy after preschool. Anime's not just stupid - is effeminately stupid...Its marketed for (young) Japanese girls.

For gods' sakes, compare the best Anime ever made with Lord of the Rings and see if it doesn't seem infinitely puerile. If you're watching Anime beyond age 8 you're probably still not able to wipe your own butt.
