The Biggest Movie/TV Cliches

Every movie and TV show has their cliches that pop up endlessly because Hollywood is running out of new material. So list some of the cliches you've noticed.


1. If it has Aliens or Zombies, the US Government is always to blame because they're doing secret experiments in underground labs as part of some evil conspiracy to rule the world, and they try to shoot anybody who discovers their secret.

2. Little girls with curly blonde hair are always happy and nice and belong in comedies or romance films (usually as a daughter to a love-seeking single parent), while little girls with long dark brunette hair are always evil or creepy, and belong in horror films either as a villain or a disturbed victim.

3. People in the Southern US always look like hillbillies and live in shabby houses, working in dirty gas stations. They still hate black people and the North which is why they're usually chainsaw and axe-weilding serial killers trying to slaughter every street-smart city slicker that comes to the countryside.

4. Teenagers are all pot-smoking booze-inhaling nymphomaniacs. All they do is do drugs, have casual sex, and listen to rock or rap. They're always smarter then the adults and hate their parents and their little brothers and sisters. They're also all physically attractive with flawless skin and hair. They are never obese, never have a single pimple, and always wear the latest fashions and hairstyles.

5. If it looks or even sounds Russian or German, it's always a villain.

But I wasn't meaning for this topic to be a serious one, I just thought it'd be fun for other members to point out the cliches in movies and TV shows.
