Recently I started reading Geoff John's Green Lantern/Hal Jordan reboot-- so far I've only read Secret Origin and Rebirth, so no spoilers please!-- and it's REALLY GOOD.

Green Lantern was one of my faves as a kid and I'm really looking forward to the new movie next summer!

So, any other Lantern fans excited about this movie?

I´m also looking forward to the new Green Lantern movie. I bought Green Lantern: First Flight DVD and the story is pretty cool. The story would make a nice movie but they are not going to make two similar stories of course! I also have Green Lantern´s Chronicles but have not read it yet. It is a re-issue of Green Lantern´s first stories. I just returned reading comics a little while ago. I read Emerald Twilight/New Dawn. I want to read Rebirth next.

No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light! "

I'm a pretty big fan too, it's the only "mainstream" title I read, so I'm pretty excited for the movie (in 3D to boot). If you want a good list of the trade paperbacks reading order, look under the "On His Return" section here. I've only read the Geoff Johns stuff myself; started with Rebirth, then went on to Sinestro Corps War, Rage of the Red Lanterns, Sins of the Star Sapphire, Agent Orange, and Emerald Eclipse before hitting the Blackest Night hardbacks (I actually just got back from the comic shop picking up a few of the TPBs that I missed between Rebirth and Blackest Night).

A bit of advice for when (and if) you get to the Blackest Night trade hardbacks, don't read each of the three main books individually (Blackest Night, Blackest Night: Green Lantern, Blackest Night: Green Lantern Corps). Read the first chapter in Blackest Night, then the first in Blackest Night: GL, then the first in BN: GLC, then the second chapter in BN, and so on. It's all in order that way.

Yeah, I thought Green Lantern: First Flight was excellent too!

The return of Hal Jordan and all the good things I've heard about the current series finally lured me back to reading comics! There's only 23 Green Lantern/Green Lantern Corps trades to read in order to catch up (about 3600 pages)! !! That's the rest of the rebuilding of the GLC, the Sinestro Corps Wars, and the Blackest Night storyline to get through... 8O

From what I understand, the movie will be loosely based on Johns' version of Secret Origin. If that's so, it should be pretty good! :)

Thanks for this bit of info!! ! I heard there was a problem with the way they collected the issues for the trades....

Well, it made sense for the individual lanterns each THB focused on, but didn't with the whole story. Either way, next time I read through them, it'll be in the way that keeps the whole story in order.
