Hi, I was just wondering if anyone remembers an old 1980's Christion Anime that went by the name of Superbook?

It was all about two kids (named Chris and Joy) and a toy robot (that would become a real robot) who would use a magic Bible to go back in time, and see the likes of Jesus, Issaic (and the like) for themselves.

The storylines would not always stick to the Bible 100% but it was still a good show for kids anyway (this in part led to my being saved)

I often used to dress up as Joy when I was little. But Sadly I have no photos

I remember it from reruns but that was a long time ago.

The only thing that sticks out in my head is the Creation story episode and a dinosaur statue. The professor had a huge house with wood floors and a fountain out front. That's really unusual for Japan, especially since the American organisation that financed the studio had the series created specifically to teach Japanese children about Christianity, though I don't know if they expected converts. If it's set in Japan why not have a Japanese house.

On a similar topic: back then Japanese, American, and British animation companies hired native artists to draw the cells. Thirty years later everyone contracts that work to south Korea because because its cheaper.
