Flintstones Movie review

and I gotta agree with him: I'm not too fond of the Flintstones either; I realize it was originally aimed at adults back then..but the fact that it's tame enough for kids now pretty much proves what he says about it.

And I don't find Halle Berry that good looking; never have.

The one thing this movie emphasizes that I can't stand: why does Fred bang on the door at the end? Go thru the window! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

I've watched this film zillions of times since I was a kid and I've always quite liked it; it's the other one they made, Viva Rock Vegas, that I can't stand.

The bit with Fred banging on the front door is a quintessential feature from the original cartoon; it's basically a comic exaggeration of the domestic squabble/woman wears the trousers scenario.

Plus, you could argue that Fred is too fat to get through the window.

You make a good point there.

I agree the film is bad but the series is good. I grew up watching it and I even had a video of 2 episodes merged together. The first one was the episode where Pebbles was born and the second one was an episode where Fred entered her in a beauty contest.

I guess I myself just have a hard time with the Flintstones the older I get. The Jetsons I like, the Flinstones not so much.

i liked the flintstones' broad ethnic humor which reminded me of the honeymooners. too bad alan reed died so soon, he was the only real voice for fred, all the others are pale imitations. the movie was one big fail. too bad, it could have been done better, with better [more old-fashioned] writing and more flintstones-like acting.

I saw all his recent reviews.

Well, what do you expect from anything starring Carrot Top?

To tell you the truth I have never really seen Carrot Top do anything. Before I heard about that movie I only really saw Carrot Top on Family Guy.
