Does anyone else actually watch the commentaries on DVDs? My friend thinks it's weird that I do, LOL, but they can be quite interesting. If I get bored and I've watched all my DVDs too recently, I just watch them again with the commentaries.

I LOVE commentaries! After watching it in theaters when I get the DVD the first time I watch it by myself (without the family/little sisters etc.) Will be commentarie. I've watched it for UP/Wall-E/Bambi(That was more of on the history of making the movie)/Toy Story movies etc. The Pixar guys are real fun to hear where an idea came from and stuff commentaries are fun and informative and you learn alot about how the movie was made the ideas behind the movie etc.

Same! I love commentaries with cast members, I find them really interesting. The only film I have not been able to watch commentary on is Finding Nemo because I found it very annoying, even when I tried it a second time. Most other films I will watch commentaries if I have nothing better to do. Lots of facts you may not find anywhere else :)

I've only watched the new "Star Trek" DVD commentaries and I loved it. They told so many interesting things about the special effects, how the scenes were shot! They said the Enterprise was actually a Budwiser factory, the snow was made of paper and the actors swalloed a lot of paper, the movie was shot at the Giants stadium, and the cave scene was based on J. Campbell! Oh I loved it!

Yeah. You never know what you can learn about behind the scenes and stuff.

I'm a big fan of dvd commentary. It's usually the first thing I do when I buy a dvd since I ususally buy dvds after I've already seen the movie. I usually prefer a cast commentary but depending on the movie and the people involved I'll watch director/producer commentary as well. I watch commentaries almost equally as much as I watch regular movies and tv.

I once had a LOTR marathon (12 hours or so) watching the cast commentary and I would totally do it again.

When I first got Repo The Genetic Opera on dvd I watched it, then I watched it again with my mom, then I watched it with the first commentary, then I watched it with the second commentary. That was all the same day, back to back, I just couldn't get enough of it and I wanted to know everything about it.

I also really like watching the commentary for my favourite tv shows. I will watch an entire series and then immediately watch it again with commentary if it's available. The most recent ones I did this with are The League of Gentlemen, Psychoville, and Red Dwarf.

If I really like the film, I watch the commentary, especially if the commentary is by an insider such as the director rather than a critic. It can give you insights that you won't get otherwise.

Yo. One of my favourites is Doctor Who: The Two Doctors. And any DVD commentary with Tom Baker in it has to be heard to be believed.

Very rarely. If it's a film I'm interested in and the commentary is good.

But otherwise, no.

It depends on the movie and who's doing the commentary.

DVD Comentaries, as well as all the other features on a DVD, are the sole REASON I buy DVDs! I love learning how they did somthing, their opinions, and thier jokes (sometimes)!

Yes.

I especially remember the commentary to "sunshine". It included a scientist consulted during the making of the film, it was intriguing hearing about what was gotten correct (in terms of physics and such) and what was not.
