Help w name on old british movie w. a none NT main role??

Watched this movie on tv ca 15 years ago.

A low cost, almost certainly from the united kingdom.
Main characther thin, dark hair, 15-18, glasses, plays with balsawood model aircrafts. Very weird, isolated and probably bullied. He gets into some youth psychiatric thing, when in a group lead by psychiatrist he answers his religious beliefs (some babble about the stars).

I think the end is optimistic with him sending aircrafts togheter with other boys.


Vague description but I dont think it can be mixed with any else.
