That's a great movie. One of Peter Jackson's best. Kate Winslet was soooo underrated in it.

I've only seen bits and pieces of that movie on television. I'd like to see the whole thing, though.

This was a great movie. Intense is an understatement but it's a slice of demented teenage life that holds up well over time.

That was a great movie, so creepy. Kate Winslet was amazing in this. It's weird to know that the real life girls were so obsessed with each other and now they aren't even friends anymore.

maybe it's because of common female social dynamics, but it actually doesn't surprise me at all that they are no longer friends.

They were court-ordered to stay away from each other and not having contact.

When I was younger I've had other girls get obsessed with me, but nothing like those girls!

Good movie, though. I haven't seen it in a long time, though.

This movie creeped the heck out of me. The obsession was scary enough but... well, without spoiling it, the decision they came to and acted upon was pretty horrifying. If it hadn't been based upon a true story, I would have figured whoever wrote it was off their rocker. That's reality for you... completely nuts and scarier than fiction.

It was a creepy subject for a film. Similar to another one I saw once called "Fun". About two teenage girls who went mad one day and killed an old woman.

I am in the UK and since the case of Jamie Bulger this kind of thing is distasteful. I saw a documentary one day that explained how something like this could happen. It showed that two teenagers or kids who are different from the other kids could find each other and end up on a spiral of negative behaviour which can easily culminate in a death.

I feel so bad about the Jamie Bulger case and I think it shows that humans (even children) can be savage and brutal given certain circumstances.

I've never seen or heard of this movie. I'd be too afraid to watch it though because I probably would have nightmares from it. >.<

I rented this movie from Netflix and saw about half of it, but I was too restless to sit through the rest of it. But even though I didn't see the entire thing, I really liked it. I tend to be partial towards films where girls become obsessed with each other, because I was obsessed with my childhood best friend (and still am to a certain degree). Two other great films which are similar to Heavenly Creatures are The Maids and Sister My Sister. Both films are also based on a true story - that of the Papin sisters, whose relationship and crime are eerily reminiscent of that of Pauline and Juliet's, despite taking place in 1930s France instead of 1950s New Zealand.
