Anyone getting excited by the idea of the new spin-off from Doctor Who called Torchwood?

It transmits a week from now (my time)....

Dark and sexy , yeehaw, the new series does seem more adult, i hope torchwood lasts longer than the ill fated K9 series, i have also heard there is a sarah jane smith in the making too!

It is good, but thus far, my preference is still Doctor Who.

One reason for this is the setting... in Doctor Who, setting is one thing that changes every week, due to the TARDIS. I enjoy that quite a lot. Every week, a different time, a different place. So far, in Torchwood, all episodes have taken place in 21st century Wales, which is slightly less interesting.

The program seems altogether more Earthbound, and less fantastical. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but not to my taste.

Anyway, there have only been three episodes, so it may be too early to judge it.

True, and there's also a new K9 series in the works. And it's going to be produced by Jetix, not the BBC. (The K9, not the Sarah Jane)

So far, i've liked Torchwood, it's quite amusing. I watched it with my parents and we were trying to come up with one liners, especially in the sex one (John Barrowmans' "come and go" was brilliant!).
Also, i didn't particularly like the Welsh accent (thought they sounded thick, sorry) but this shows that i am very wrong.
