I was watching Legally Blonde for a little while this evening before I got bored and went to do something else. There's a scene where she's sitting on the lawn with a number of other students after just arriving to Harvard Law School.

Everyone introduces themselves, somewhat awkwardly, and include some of what they have accomplished (bare bones, facts, resume, no personal flourish). When it's Elle Woods' turn, she speaks melodically and excitedly, she includes a personal tidbit that's pretty irrelevant and she smiles throughout her introduction. The others just look at her deadpan.

I'd like to show that scene to everyone who doesn't understand what it's like to be an aspie. I'd like to say, "You see how she seems really weird and obnoxious to everyone around her? Yeah, that's how I see most of you. You're all Elle Woods."

That's a fascinating way of putting it.

Although I don't think the students were meant to be Aspies as much as they were simply meant to be snooty Ivy League students.

I was using that scene as an analogy.
