Sadly since Stargate Universe got off to a slow start it seems it;s viewings went down and it has been cancelled Totally disappointed. I loved the Stargate series'.

My friend has got me to start watching Battlestar Galactic.

Apart from that (and apart from Star Trek and Dr Who) is there anybody who could recomend any Sci Fi which I might like?

SGU is ending!? BOOO

At least I have Netflix to get my Stargate fix. lol

Also, I don't know if you're into British sci-fi humor, but I would recommend Red Dwarf. They aren't making new series, but it's still awesome, IMO.

If you like BSG, there's Caprica and the upcoming Blood & Chrome (set during Cylon War I)...

If you're open to radio shows there are tons of X-1 episodes available at Archive.org <-Yo clickity.

Yes it is coming to an end because the story line was crap for the best part of the first season, ratings were low and people had lost faith by the time it got good.

Red Dwarf is funny btw. I am looking for something more serious though.



BSG and it's spin offs is sounds like a safe bet.

Gee, they suck. I'm glad I don't have cable anymore.

Still, Blood and Chrome is apt to have lotsa 'splosions so it might last a season or 10...

I do not even own a TV. Internet is far more educational than a TV and in the UK it costs £150 to buy a TV licence giving you the legal rights to watch television.

There way be a legal way around paying a TV licence anyway according to this if anybody is interested.

My Mum owns a lovely 52 inch TV so looking forward to buying a box set or two and watching it there, in its full glory

I say good riddance to SGU and Caprica. Both never followed the originals closely enough. I quit watching both of them when the B plot took over the show. Caprica, it was all about the Tauron mafia and industrial espionage and religion/terrorism (which, if you ask me, they're one and the same). No mentions of ANY of this in BSG, how little Billy Adama's eyes went from brown to blue, how his family played a part in the Cylons coming in to being. No mention by the Cylons of Zoe or Sister Clarice. Admiral Adama always spoke about his father being a just and fair lawyer. He was crooked as hell.

SGU had way too much sex, fooling around (who's sleeping with who), pop music and people being idiots. I always find it funny when there's a visibly and readily apparent overweight person on a show in which they're lucky to consume 500 calories a day and expend 10 times that on a mission and they're still chubby. Like the show Lost for example.

So is that it?? In the UK, when half of the second series ended last year it said 'returning in 2011'. So will they finish it off, or is it gone already?? They have to at least return to Earth. Still, I'm furious , it is so underrated but awesome

Its a shame. Stargate Universe was a rather enjoyable television show and I was looking forwards to them exploring the topic of messages hidden in background radiation. Seems like they will just cancel it like all other sci fi tv shows.

@MasterJedi, I get what you are saying but as it went on it started to get good again in my opinion, and had the potential to turn into a great series.

@Tensu, in the United Kingdom you need to pay around £150 per household for the basic right to watch television. This takes in a heap of money every year and is put towards the BBC and other BBC owned companies (like channel4 i believe).

It can be paid weekly, monthly, or however way one wishes to pay it.

They have a list of homes not registered with TV licensing then go around in a van with an electronic device which can detect for quite some range any electro magnetic signature to within 3 feet. These signatures are then compared to a database of existing TV related technology like TV, Sky Boxes or Freeview boxes (like cable or satellite boxes).

It also includes TV tuner cards, which i think i have in my computer. I do not use it, but as a result of having it i am getting threatening letters saying i am under investigation and may face prosecution IF i am using it for watching TV. They cleverly do not open the sentence with a conditional IF, but put it in mid way through to make it seem more intimidating. A friend told me to write to them and sent me a copy with correct grammar. (there was more to the incorrect grammar than that but i cant remember it right now)

@Simonono. yes it is ending. I feel the same as you about it. The end of season 2 will be shown later this year, but that is it. It is the producers own fault for making it get off to a slow start. If it had developed a bit more quickly it may have had a long future.
