Personally, I think the best movie of all-time is Inception.

I want to see what movies the people on WP consider their best one of all-time.

If you choose "None of the above - My favorite movie isn't listed" as an option, specify what movie you think is the best one of all-time. Thanks :).

I can't decide. I've seen so many good movies.
Best Horror/Sci-Fi definitely goes to Event Horizon, though.
Best Adaption from a Book I've Actually Read may be the original Pride and Prejudice mini series. Actually, I'll give it to One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest. Actually, no. It may take a mini-series to actually best adapt a book to the screen. Worst was, in my opinion, a Walk to Remember. Like, the characters' names stayed the same. The plot was loosely based on the book. The book was intense, but the movie was dumb. As for LOTR, I love the movies but I never made it through the series, so I can't say.
Best 80's flick may be Robot Jocks for sheer kitcsh and mech-action. But, I'd rather give it to War Games. So yeah, I will.
Best anime movie is Paprika, hands down.
Best Musical movie is South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut
My favorite Star Trek movie is Insurrection. I used to fall asleep to this for a while. It's awesome.
See, there's too many to choose from!
But, that's my "Other." You asked for it.

I have to be honest, although I have a lot of films that I consider a favourite, The Dark Knight, if not the top one, would be close.

I picked "not listed", but Inception was really really great mostly because of the music and the general concept and how it was executed.

Rain Man is beautiful.

The Lion King is glorious and beautifully tragic but is missing some kind of... something.

My favorite movie is Back to the Future. I read that the rhythm of scene edits conforms very closely, more than almost any other movie, to a measurable algorithm that is called the "most perfect ratio" or something because it shows up in nature at an improbable rate. This is hard to explain cause I don't know exactly what it means but it affects people at a very visceral level obviously. Which must be why it's my favorite movie. The scene where he sees his old neighborhood when it hasn't been built yet and there's only a sign advertising the new development being built is the most eerie and overwhelming scene I have ever seen in a movie.

i am not generally a movie fan, because i object to the coarse and grainy 24 frame-per-second look of film in general. this aside, i would have to submit the made-for-video telefilm [originally shot on videotape] "the electric grandmother." for ordinary 35mm film, it would be "the adding machine" tied with "the flim-flam man."

I personally think The Chipmunk Adventure is the best movie ever. But that's just me. I think I'm the only who actually thinks that.

In terms of plot, characterization and whatnot, my favorite is Stardust. An amazing blend of action, romance and comedy, all wrapped up in an engaging, relatively unique storyline made even better by an all-star cast.

It's not one of my favorite movies, but I'm surprised you don't have the Godfather up there. 8O

On that list, my favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas, but my most favorite movie of all time is probably Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or Shaun of the Dead. 8)

I also chose "not listed."
The movie that I think is the best of all time is Blue Velvet, with The Usual Suspects, and LA Confidential following up a close second and third.
