Here's the trailer for The Rum Diary, a kinda sorta followup to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Both films are based on the semi-fictional adventures of Hunter S. Thompson and star Johnny Depp.

The interesting difference between them is that whereas Terry Gilliam ( "Brazil", and "12 Monkey's" which I love, and "Time Bandits", "The Fisher King", which are ok, and "Tideland" which I loathe, etc ) directed "F & L in Las Vegas", ( and I disliked it so much I couldn't watch past the first couple of scenes ) ... this one, "The Rum Diary"/"in Puerto Rico", is directed by Bruce Robinson, who wrote and directed "Withnail & I" ( which I love )!

I'm looking forward to it.

Yes, I'll be up for seeing that when it comes out over here. I'm a fan of Thompson - or at least his early work - and I thought the movie of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" was surprisingly good for a movie based on a book that I'd always imagined was unfilmable.

That car scene at the end was the best part.
