The film has not yet been released and I haven't seen it yet, but just now I was reading some of the character profiles on wikipedia and it was kinda disturbing. First off it says that Optimus will kill Shockwave and that Sentinel will betray the Autobots and kill Ironhide. This could be false rumours, but it did come from wikipedia. If anyone has seen the film already please don't tell me if it's true because I haven't seen it yet, but for anyone who has not yet seen the film please tell me what you think. True or False.

Also since I've never read the comic books and Sentinel never appeared in the animated series, could someone tell me if he was an all out good guy like Optimus or not. But again if what happens in the film is true please for the love of god do not tell me. I remember seeing Sentinel on Transformers Animated in which he was portrayed not as a villain but as an arrogant jerk.

Sentinel Prime was Optimus' superior. Typically in the various stories he is killed in combat and Optimus gets a Field Promotion (Superior Officer dies, best guy in the unit takes his place)

And I am unhappy to hear that the romance subplots will be a main focus this time around. Less HUMANS already.

Maybe it won't be as bad. If these rumours I heard is true there will be a lot more focusing on other scenes. Also from what one reviewer said he or they consider it to be the best out of the 3.

I bought the new Transformers Vault book yesterday--which is excellent, by the way--and it has a rough plot for the new movie:

[SEMI-SPOILERS] "It turns out that the race to the moon launched by President Kennedy was prompted to investigate Transformer activity. Optimus Prime's predecessor, Sentinel Prime, had developed a dangerously powerful weapon. Rather than risk it falling into Decepticon hands, Sentinel fled the battlefield only to crash his ship, the Ark, into Earth's moon. Optimus and the Autobots are briefed on this history by a firsthand witness--Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin makes an appearance as himself in the movie.

The Decepticons and Autobots race to claim this lunar weapon, known as the Space Bridge, but a treacherous Sentinel Prime emerges alive, corrupted with visions of conquest. Optimus and Megatron must team up to defeat the turncoat before he can use the Bridge's powers of teleportation to transport Cybertron into Earth's orbit: the move would destroy Earth, releasing a massive wave of energy that Sentinel Prime plans to use to save Cybertron. The film's climax includes multiple battles with the largest cast of robot characters yet. Even Sam Witwicky acquits himself well in combat as a shape-shifting gauntlet built by the Autobots gives him some much needed defensive firepower against the Decepticons."

Sounds good, if Michael Bay keeps his promise of less crude humor and dangling robot balls. Some nice references to the old G1 cartoon series there: the Ark, the Space Bridge, and a plot involving Cybertron being pulled into Earth's orbit. I'm hopeful.
